Default Project "Desire" has begun....

Its called Desire because thats what I need it to be. I desire the best scale truck on the trails. My first step to get this truck going has begun! I just won this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...3429&rd=1&rd=1

This truck will be used for what my other one won't. All out performace while keeping a scale apperance. Pics will be uploaded as I make progress. Hope to have some pics up early tomorrow. The truck will feature:

Lathe motor
Relocated steering servo
Relocated battery
BB's in tires
Head and tail lights
Winch
Scale acessories
Light Gun Metal paint w/ clearcoat
Can Back
Aluminum rims
Trac Bar
Mono Tuning chassis
Brass work

The point of this is I want a high lift that is fully capable on the trails. I want this one to be able to go where no other high lift can :nice: The biggest drawback is the tranny. My other high lift is awesome with all the work that has gone into it. I just dont want to see it get ruined. Im off to build the axles.....

Its an interesting topic, because you really have to draw the line between scale and performance.

I think you'll find the best scale performer out there will be a SW2 Rubicon with a few accessories.

Best of luck, and yeah post some more about how you plan the actual truck design. Four link? Triangulated? Shocks...? Where is the battery going to be mounted? Tranny?

Yeah, somebody on one of the boards tried selling me the same thing fo $72 shipped! I passed Im gonna put up my new 3 speed on ebay and see what I can get for it. Im not sure what its worth.

Im going to have to make a custom mount for the tranny. Im gonna have to wait until I get it to start that. I will be keeping the leaf spring suspension and will do a trac bar in the rear. I might try a different amount of leaves than my other one.

Im trying to keep the scale look but I want it to perform alot better than a stock high lift...thats where the tranny comes in. I think with the pede tranny and a few other mods it will actually perform very well.

After I build this one....i might(keyword might) sell or partially trade my first high lift for a scale comp rig ......im thinking about it. It wouldnt include the electronics except the motor. Still not sure if i can part with it after all the work that went into it.
