| OldMoparsRule - XJ Cherokee on 2.2's
I am new here, but have been building 1:1 rigs for a while. I have always wanted to build a scale rock crawler, and have finally taken the plunge. Here is my old XJ that I will be duplicating. This shot shows the completed rear bumper with tire carrier that I made. Here is a driveway poser shot before I finished the tire carrier portion. I ended up selling it to a guy in Moab, so I now live vicariously through my buddies at SoCalXJ...and am a mall crawler in my Silverado. My plan is to run TLT axles and 2.2 Rock-Loxs with the Pro-Line XJ body. I bought all of the brazing stuff a few days ago, and have a MIG welder if need be. I hope to start bending the metal to build the frame in the next week or so. I am building it from scratch, so we will see how it goes. More pics to come. Thanks, OldMoparsRule! |

Good luck! It always sucks to get rid of your rigs. I built a ZJ and sold it a little bit ago. Boy do I regret it. I'm looking forward to your build. |

I am building a 64 Dodge Dart that I just finished mini-tubbing, narrowing the axle, and fitting 315x60x15's on 15x10 Welds. You can see the strips of metal I welded in to widen the wheel wells. Unfortunately, I am getting the bug again to sell it and move on. That is the whole reason I am getting into RC's, I can easily put a project away and start another without having to store big vehicles. I am really looking forward to getting into this hobby. BTW, my screen name comes from building these old 1:1 Mopars. Thanks, OldMoparsRule! | |

So, I did some work on the frame today after "normal" work... I bent the frame. Here is a shot of the side of the square - un-cut frame. My plan, now that the frame is bent is to cut down the middle so I have two identical sides. Here is the same frame, but from the top...this view is to check how square the frame is. Here is a shot of the frame mocked up against the Cherokee Shell. Finally, here is a shot of the Rox Lox 2.2's I hope to split the 2 halves tomorrow after work, and begin the cross bars. Thanks, OldMoparsRule! |

After spending some time making this chassis, I switched gears and worked on mounting my Cherokee body on a Wraith Chassis. I still have plans for another rig based on the assembled parts... Here is a link to the Wraith forum where I started a new thread. Pinched Cherokee Wraith Thank you! OldMoparsRule! |
