| Building a Bouncer
I've decided it's time to build a rock bouncer, have loved the look of them since I found out they even existed. I will be using AR60 axles, but the rear will get converted to a center pumpkin, so I need to order another housing. I've decided to try a 1/16 Traxxas transmission, with some custom set screw/pins and shims to take up the gap as the outputs are 4mm, and the shafts are 5mm WB8 HD's. Nothing some 0.019 aluminum can't fix. I'll also be going sensored brushless on this one, for a more authentic bouncer feel, haha. I'm thinking a waterproofed MMP from Holmes, and a Tekin ROC 412 Got a long way to go, but I'll be using the 1/4 brake line again for this chassis. Now to name it, hmm -Derek |

Made a full scale side view to plan things out, and got the chassis started. After all the aluminum brazing I was doing in building Slimer, brazing steel is a cake walk! And about 100 times faster!! -Derek |

| Re: Building a Bouncer Thanks guys. I can't take all the credit on the idea to use the 1/16 Traxxas tranny though, grunt95 suggested it in a conversation about building this rig last weekend at the snow crawl, before I knew what size tire I was going to run. I was debating between 1.55, 1.9, and 2.2, obviously I went 2.2 though. Hopefully it holds up, but I've seen metal gears and cases for them if it comes to that -Derek |

Really like the looks of this !!! like the tranny idea also. As for a name...... I cant come up with many other names that don't evolve some type of spider theme. the overhead view resembles a spider body very much..... hmmm

Interested to see the trans do work. It looks smaller than the axial direct drive setup.

Got the mounts for the tranny made and brazed in. Ah, steel is so much easier and faster to braze than aluminum, haha -Derek |

Got a couple more pieces made and brazed on. I set a few thing in places they might end up, but I think the battery is gonna go up front, and have all the electronics out back. -Derek |

I have no idea how I liked your post twice, haha, that's odd, but funny. I got 3 more pieces made and brazed in, and you can start to see the shape its going to take on. Also got an idea sketched down for a engine/cover to help hide the motor and battery. TT LS. I'll probably just build it out of styrene. -Derek |
