Small update. Spent a few hrs tonight working on the dome light. Made a lens from some clear styrene. Then I used more boxed styrene that fit snug into the top of the roll bar for a place to mount a switch and an led, as well as a wire chase. I slid various sizes of styrene strip into the boxed tube and glued them in to lock everything in place. Masked off where the lens will be. Painted and glued on the lens. Mounted into the roll bar. Now I'm just left with a mountain of wiring.... The plan is to conceal as much as I can between the dash and firewall. |

Put some more time in on this. More wiring... Ugh.... Racked my brain a bit to figure out how to mount the Heyok light controller. Great controllers, but a bit hard to mount in this type of build. Heres my attempt. Started with some styrene. Then I made some more wire chases to feed the lighting wires up behind the dash. Had to cut a notch out of the bottom of the dash to receive the wire chases. While I was at it, I decided to change up how the dash mounts. Originally mounted with 2- m3 screws, but these are pretty much inaccessible after all the electronics are in. Seeing how the dash will need to come out in order to remove the body, due to some electronics being concealed there, and some plugs that will need to be disconnected, I swapped in some Tamiya body mounts instead. The pins can be pulled from underneath. It mounts up perfect, nice and tight. Can see the wire chases up into the dash. Started to wire up the front lights. And out of time for tonight. |

Found some time to work on the wiring a bit. Finished up the front lights. Hi/Lo beams, parking lights, and turn signals. The turn signal lights will only function as hazard lights as im not really that fond of turn signals tied to the steering. If anyone is wondering this is the light controller I'm using from Al. (Heyok) Finished up the wiring behind the dash. I hid what I could here. The only components left to hide are the rx and esc. And I have some plans to hide them in the engine bay. I also saw it fit to cover the back side of the dash panel with some electrical tape. The light from the led's in the dash was bleeding into the engine bay and through the vents in the cowl. |

Finally received all parts I've been waiting on, so getting back at this. I decided to try out the sound unit Capo sells for this. Standard Sense unit is all it is. After watching a couple videos of it in action, I decided to give it a try. Though in keeping with the "scale" nature of this build, it needed to be concealed in a clever way, along with the battery. Which is another feat all its own. For some reason I feel the need to stuff the largest battery possible into my builds. Its tough to hide things on this due the fact that everything is open. Engine bay, interior, trunk area etc. Here's what I have come with in an effort to keep it scale. Something along the lines of a Tuffy storage box. Heres the 1:1 inspiration. I started by hacking into the Sense sound unit to make it fit into my dimensions. I had to shorten it, and flip the board around so I could still have access to the buttons. Then I built a box around it. Just enough room to hold the battery and connectors. The speaker points out the side. Mounted to the floor with m3 bolts and nuts. The battery is held down with velcro tape, and the lid with magnets. Final results. | |

Any update on this? How does it drive and how smooth and realistic is the suspension and transmission action?
