Default Introducing The UCFab PRT(pure race truck)U4RC build

So with Axialfest coming up I wanted to build me a new car to race. I will still be running my regular ultra car in the Endurance race. This one is being built for some track racing. After seeing Delmontes car with the leading and trailing arms I knew if I was to ever build a U4RC car That was how I would do it.(thanks for the inspiration Jake).

The main goal for the build was to build a car of this nature and still have it look scale. And by that I mean a traditional two seater That actually has frame rails that span the wheelbase of the car. Mission complete!

The chassis will be very light so weight can be added in desired locations to meet the 8 lb rule for U4RC Trophy class racing. Also has multiple places where the battery can be placed for further tuning.

Parts list:
UCFab PRT chassis
UCFab 7075 leading and trailing arms
UCFab Yeti sway bars front and rear
Dlux 1808 axles front and rear
Dlux Ti upper links
Dlux Ti steering links
Ottsix Voodoo U4 tires
CI 6 bolt wheels
TLR shocks
Hitech 7950 servo
Tekin Roc 412
Wraith trans
MIP drive shafts

How the car sits now.

And some pics of the build process.

Beautiful work! I hope I can see it (drive it) at Axialfest this year

How are the spring rates for the big 12mm bore shocks? I wouldn't mind trying them, but I was afraid that the spring selection would be too stiff for a U4 truck/crawler.

Thanks Jake. I planned on handing over the radio to you to get your opinion on setups. You are way ahead of me on testing a car like this. Would love to hear your feed back on How its driving.

The big shocks feel amazing. I was dropping it from 8 feet up to a flat landing and it just soaks it up, with no crazy rebound. These shocks I have been running on my ultra car for a couple years now. I run the softest one in the rear and the same spring in the front that I ground out the inside of the spring to adjust spring tension to my liking. I just test the spring rates on a scale. I usully leave the motor side spring about 4 grams heavier.

We need to get you one of these to run next season at the U4RC races

Thanks! The leading arms are just my Yeti arms with .250" taken off the front. you can have Dlux shorten a set for you. I beleive its $20 to modify the arms.

Before I finish the chassis all the way I wanted to drive it a little. To make sure there wasn't any issues. After running a few packs through it I am very pleased with how it drives. It was getting around the track better than my Yeti!!(part of that due to the stock rear shocks on the Yeti really suck

No changes will be made as far as suspension. for now!
Here is a few shots I got ripping around the back yard.

Update way over due. The PRT has turned out to be my favorite car by a long way!! With a little shock tuning it works way better than I ever expected out of a solid axle car. Ended up moving the battery behind the Transmission. really helps the car fly level. there is now 3 of these out there and another 5 on the build list.

Here is how mine is looking now.

This one is UCFab team driver Brian Jones in So Cal

And this one is UCFab team driver Tony Mazza's in Nor Cal

I really like the looks of this setup. The front / rear trailing arms and sway bars make it look like a true performer. Might have to save up and shoot you a PM about building me one.

These are absolutely beautiful works of machinery. What does one of these bad boys weigh in running trim?
