| SuperDrty's G6 rig, the "Dirty Girl"
So, instead of rebuilding FarmTruck, I stumbled upon another Parma 57 Chevy pickup, and decided to build another truck from the ground up with a set of aluminum rails like my 2 comp rigs, but in the style of a Mega Mud Truck. Just like my comp trucks, I kept with a warbird theme, and being built for G6 style events, the 2 I made it to this year had a good serving of mud, I named her "dirty girl" with a silhouette on the tailgate. Build sheet: Parma 57 Chevy pickup body, tailgate smoothed where it used to say chevrolet SCX10 skid and chassis cross-braces SCX10 transmission, with all metal gears Dual Traxxas Titan 12T motors Holmes BR-XL (have yet to purchase, have a water damaged core to send in too) 3s power (to start) 28mm narrowed AR60 axles, with Axial universals up front Traxxas 2662 shocks w/ rear Mini-T springs and 10-32x1/2" wellnut (trimmed) spring cups Overdrive gears in front, underdrive in back 2.2 Mud Basher Tractor tires homemade wheels (still working on the master) NOW WITH PROLINE 2.8 F11 WHEELS Since I got the frame rails made today, I figured it was a good time to start the trhead, I started working on it a couple weeks ago, starting with the body. Pics, starting with the body -Derek Last edited by SuperDrty; 10-20-2015 at 09:00 AM. |

Got a little further on the custom wheel, but I'm thinking of just going with Proline's 2.2 Desperado mini revo wheels instead (have 2 around, but only found 1) after running into difficulties. The offsets won't be what I was hoping for, but they'll be fine (wider than I was planning) -Derek |

After doing some searching, and then looking through my wheel/tire stash, I have another plan for wheels, even though the intended bead style is different, it should mount up. Hopefully. 2.8 Proline F-11 with the 2.2 mud bashers stretched over them. Should work, and it'll give a more realistic proportion of wheel size to tire height. -Derek |

The 2.8 proline F11 wheels came in, and here's the 2.2 mud basher stretched over it, with some "tucking" of the original tire bead. No cutting. -Derek |

Sweet build! Can you please tell me what the wheel base on the body is? Give or take before you opened the fenders up. Thank you. |

It had about a 10.5" wheelbase before the trimming |

Front axle truss made, and front links made. Still have to cut the 1/4" brake line to sleeve them though. Also, the front left rim shows how I'm going to detail them. Now to make the rear truss, a mirror image of the front. -Derek |

Progress throughout today. She's running and ready to go for the howl crawl tomorrow. Used a Castle Sidewinder3 from a truck I've retired to power her till funds allow for the purchase of a BR-XL needed to make a shield to keep the battery wires out of the spur and pinion gears, so more of the 0.019" aluminum sheet that made the battery and electronics tray Tilting body, just like FarmTruck And the flex shot -Derek |

Only pics I took today, and only the first one was at Taylor Falls. After the run, gave it a rinse outside, then found some battle scars on the roof. This truck was fun to trail run with, and it likes mud, just needs a touch more wheel speed. -Derek |

Got the new Holmes Hobbies BR-XL esc installed in the mega truck, and switched from series to parallel wiring of the motors. THIS THING IS AN ANIMAL NOW! Also got one of the new e-maxx classic drive shafts together and installed (waiting on the other set of "u"s to do the front). They needed some shaving of the lip on the axle end, and had to turn some material off on the tranny end. All after reaming the flats out of the center hole.
