I finally decided to give one of these a try. I originally planned to do the frame myself but after a lot of research I realized I didn't have the tools or time. So I got in touch with Prof ProJunk to have one fabricated. Just got the package today and all I can say is WOW! Beautiful work. He did a great job and I can't wait to dive in. So I have a chassis and some axles. Lots more to go. Plus this is going to be the first rig I'll try my hand at a finished interior. A few pics of how this starts. |

I was looking for some motor recommendations. I have a tekin rs pro of hand but no motor. What have people found to be solid? I'm looking for a reasonable balance of speed and low end control. I want fast but I won't be doing high speed bashing.

That chassis looks incredible! Those panels look great. I love the open middle section on the roof. You going to paint the panels?

I actually picked up to sets of panels. The ones on it will stay a raw aluminum. For the second set I'm going to paint the them tamiya camel yellow to match the rest of my rigs. Not sure how well I can get the spray can paint to stick to the aluminum but going to give it a shot. | |

It has been a long time since I posted up but I have made a lot of progress. Took it out for a maiden run this afternoon. Everything worked well. Need to turn down the drag brake and I think I have a bad bearing in one of the knuckles I need to replace. Still have some finishing work on the panels and a few other tuning points but it is close. |

Got all the panels painted and finished the rig up. Took it out for a spin at a nearby baseball field. It was a blast. Good blend of speed and power. The mmp and roc412 combo provides very smooth throttle control. May be my combo of choice for future builds. Here are a few pics in its final state. I didn't have the power on so you can't see the lights on the center console and I just realized I don't have a steering wheel! |
