Default First bouncer cage. Wide open designs Revolution chassis.

So this is my first bouncer chassis,
Wanted to build the revolution chassis from WOD.
Still have a good amount left to do.
Was planning a U4 style chassis, but
came across this bouncer chassis and couldn't resist.

All hand bent with some aid of a bench vise, and Burned together with a craftsman 80 amp flux core welder. Two big files and a grinder, and my poor ruined hands. LOL (worth it)

Starting with two photos I used to make this contraption.

I started initially by mocking up the skid...

Then I just zoned out making the two main rails down the sides
(that was the biggest PITA to get matched up...)

Then came the roof bars.

the main hoop tying roof to chassis.

And lastly three mostly finished cage pics.

Stay tuned More to come.
Take 'er easy.

Teaser update! only have a few minutes this morning, and since photo buckets working again, I figured I'd start the update with a few teasers.

Ditched the smaller shock towers to run 120's.

(I know...It is going on 2.2s Real quick. Just had the boggers sitting on my bench at the time)

Keep an eye out for the next update.
Take 'er easy,

Thanks bud! Only a shift an a half worth of work, It came out pretty good, I feel it was worth it.

I find this sorta metal work is very therapeutic. I've been having a rather rough go at life last few years. This has been my escape as of late, I look forward to building many more!

Now that I've gotten a few ideas and practices under my belt scratch building that cage from 3/16th, and 1/8th" rod. Using non measured cad drawings displayed on my phone as a reference. Everything you see was done one side by eye, and then everything was exact copied and mirrored for the other side.
Also picked up a new to me Mid sized bench vise that will help incredibly.

Plans for now:

Simple interior, Dash, seat(s), maybe a couple tiny lights,

Engine, want a big block ford for this build -- ties into the paint..., LSX is possible.,

Powder coat (keeping colors secret for now)

Body panels, functional hood,

Full light set,

scale stuff, (recovery stuff, winch, fuel cell)

We'll see what other ideas I come up with.

I don't have a huge amount of money to spend towards the hobby atm, as much as I like too..But this will not stop me in my pursuit to build.

Take it easy everyone.

Update time.

First off, I cut and rebuilt the stinger and front end, wasn't happy with it, Now I can at least live with it. Lol

Also added a removable hood via magnets, got the dash in there, partial floor pan, and a seat.

I think this dash looks the part. Just gotta paint it to match once I get some color on this sucker. Battery tray is also tucked up under dash, Yes it will fit a 3s just fine.

If ya look close, you can see the standard wraith tray under there.

A couple out door mock up photos.

Mandatory flex shot.

Welp, This builds getting closer and closer. Big thanks Goes out to PostClanker for the VP 2.2s and tires.

Just awaiting a few things, another seat, and all the electronics.

I'll add a little more color to the paint scheme, graphics, and the hood. also have a few small tweaks to work out here and there.

Sitting as a roller now though.

Apologies for the blurry photo.

thanks for lookin', Any comments, suggestions, or questions welcome!

Take 'er Easy everyone. And Happy Holidays!

Well, Finally got some time to mess with this build. I went ahead

and added a bit more, Made a removable hood. Ditched the panels,

and still haven't decided which tire this is going on,

but the 1.9 boggers make a good set of rollers in the shop.

so please ignore those...

Also haven't fully decided if it's staying purple, I just wanted to put

something on it to keep the surface rust off. It's rather damp in my shop.

Still on the hunt for scale bits, this build is no where near finished, I just

need to find the time to get after it on this one, Any thoughts or criticisms welcome!

Will get a few more detailed photo's uploaded once I've cleaned up the welds a bit, Also next set of photo's it'll be back on 2.2s.

Take it easy Fellas,!

took some more photos of it on some 2.2s,

the hood mounts down by these pins that seat in the these tabs that are drilled out, holds down tight enough I can pick the whole buggy up by just the hood when it's seated.

annnnd of course some flex shots.
(apologies for blurriness)

I love the s curve on these sides. Very similar to that online designed car. The rally fighter. And yes my gawd my haaands! I had no finger prints on my index finger after I finished my first cage.

Thanks man, came across one of Wide open designs builds as busted knuckled shared their post on FB. Loved the look and did some research, Just now starting to go more custom.

I got real Real tired of hand bending, so I went ahead and just fabbed up a little helper, has enough gusto to bend up to 1/4" stainless. Not real proud of how it looks, but it sure does do the job just fine.

My poor hands have thanked me ever since. Production time tripled as it takes much less time to match bends with a simple bender.

Lastly, To anyone reading, Still cannot decide if this buggy should be a 1.9 or 2.2, Any thoughts? Was intending for 2.2's originally, but the 1.9 boggers are growing on me.

Thanks for lookin'

My vote is 2.2. The shots I see with the 2.2 tires def looks more scale.
