Default 1992 Ford F-350 6-door long bed build

We are starting a new season, this will probably be our entertainment next months.
When I say we, I mean the cat (who is not yet involved in the working process, but controls every step, so don't worry) and me.
But we don't mind if you join us! I hope that my builds can help you with your own.

It's a six-door F-350 from the ninth generation of the f-series Ford trucks.
Scale: 1/9
Wheelbase: 675 mm (26.5 inches).
Total length: 880 mm (34.7 inches).

I started with the chassis. The frame is sawn from wood. I don't know how to work with metal and where to get it, so I do not use it.
I love to work with wood and it has a lighter weight.
This is Exceed MaxStone links, 195 mm long, some of them I extended to 250 and 275 mm.

Wraith front and scx10 rear shocks.

One meter long chassis.

Scx10 axles and 1.9 wheels installed.

Dual motor with the same mounting system that I used in the Snowcat thread.
I also tested it in the Jeep Brute snowrun in the spring.

I will build the body next.

WOW, what a beast! Your builds are very inspiring and informative. I've already learned a trick or two from your other rigs, looking forward to this one too.
I also have a cat as a "boss" (she turned 24 in March ) and I build with wood some too (my boat trailer is almost ALL oak). so I'll be following this build for sure.
Keep the magic coming.

Thank you, good to hear, that's what I'm doing is useful.
dr frankenstyle, your boat looks awesome, whether I did not like trucks so much, I would like to work with yachts.

The blueprints and the paper model. That is how it supposed to look like.

This will be a cool build. Saw the Diesel brothers do a truck like this on their show. Keep up the good work.

Tuned in for this build=) looks like it will be amazing. Personally love the boxy style older fords body's. Just have a nice tough look to them. One day would love to do a big build like this. Have some mud basher 2.2s hanging out waiting to be put to use.

This truck should be as cool as it is long. I worked for a custom limousine shop for a few years, we cut and added up to 240-inches to 1:1 Excursions, Navigaters and Escalades (and cars too ) to make BIG Limo's. This build takes me back to those days.
My cat (the boss-lady) and I are watching this one come together.
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the good words for my boat.
You should build a boat, I'd LIKE to see that.
Oh, and I loved the video with your micro-truck, very nicely done! (both the truck AND video)

Wow, stretched, wood frame, six doors, sketch is spot on. It is always entertaining to watch you assemble one of these incredible builds, more so when you stop to think about the builds you have completed.....meaning you are half way around the world, in a country where you have picked vehicles that I would be surprised if a single one has ever been found, yet they are incredibly detailed. You are extremely talented Mr. b-kons!

Thanks, it's great that you're interested.
dr frankenstyle, not sure I ever build a boat, it's kind of a classic, you just need to have the skills, but when I start to build, I have no idea how I'll get through this.
joe122, you're right, these cars almost can not be found, I saw once a 1987 F-350 extended cab and 1992 F-350 two-door and some later versions.

It has not relate to this build, but I've uploaded some new photos, which may be interesting to you.

The photos some of your other builds are great. You have over the top building skills. Have seen and like the detail work that you put in your builds. I will be following this build. Love big fords.

It's obvious, mr. b, that your skills go far beyond scale vehicles. Your dioramas and scale-photography are fantastic also. Great work !!
I didn't build my boat (the Asians get credit for that), I just scratch-built the trailer. Like my nickname implies, I usually take "body-parts" from other vehicles (mostly from my old rc graveyard) and use them in new "creatures".
I'm quite sure that you could build an amazing boat, sir, but just keep making whatever magic that you choose ....
and I'll happily watch.

Thanks!
dr frankenstyle, I thought so, looking at the boat.
The trailer and the truck, all the details, all together looks great.
I also love working with old scrap I find. Metal parts that I used for the chassis are from some old toy kit.

Start to work with a body.

Materials:
Evergreen styrene
Mr. Hobby white putty and epoxy putty

2 mm (080) styrene for the sides, 1.5 mm (060) for the top.

0.4 mm (015) styrene, to make a curved shape.

The top and rear side.
I use two types of glue, transparent in the tube and glue gun, which is very useful.

Looks great and such a pleasure to see such accurate work with this giant! Nice puttyjob around the window areas.

Did you reinforce the sidepanels somehow?

Thanks! I didn't plan, it flexes when pressure, but keep the shape, but I had to add some styrene inside to correct the bend at the welds.

And Wow.....how ingenious, the way you "skin" the inner body. Great details, and awesome cut work!

Great stuff there, I will borrow your technique. I have something in the works and wasn't quite sure about how I was going to do the cab and I see this, priceless. The only difference is mine will be metal.
