Thanks Gents!
Its the Tamiya body, yes.

The Amarok is a very cool pickup an popular in South-Africa. Capable off road and looks awesome with minimal accessories.

When I started reading this Thread.... I thought, 'i should give you the link to my HG P402 Build/Mod', in case you might need some ideas....
But it's apparent that you don't need it! That's some serious fabrication - especially the second version!!
Does it have problems with high center of gravity? It looks like it, but looks are often deceiving. SWEET Rig!

Thanks.
Its a bit top heavy, yes. Just have to find a plan to drop the battery a bit more and it should be sorted. Running NiMh packs that takes up a lot of space as well.

Had it out on a trail and I’m really impressed with it. The HG gear is smooth enough and the drive feels nice and accurate. Climbed over everything in its path. The 30t pinion gives for a perfect speed when walking in high gear. Low gear is just right for climbing over and up obstacles.
The star cut foam in the Badlands gives for just enough ‘pressure’ and they grip and claw like mad out there.

All in all it was a blast.

Default My Woman’s 2.2 Custom Chinese Build.

Had the rig out last weekend. Went with a whole bunch of guys trailing and crawling up Table Mountain. Was really nice to compare it to all the other rigs.
Its built for the Woman and is set up for trailing and light crawling. The shocks are now 100mm HSP eBay jobbies with softer springs as the previous Tamiya CVA’s. They work great and it looks AWESOME running with the swaying and what not out on a trail. I had to mcguyver a sway bar in the rear to help with the massive torque twist though. Articulation is huge too. She loves it like it is set now.

Anycase: the trail.... it did quite well! The other guys were hugely impressed too. The only problem I had was the battery that was up too high. Its now dropped as low as I could into the chassis. Got 2.5-3hrs on a 5000mah NiMh. Big rocks and evil inclines that posed problems. The 2.2’s obviously go over everything and the Badlands did very good gripping all over the place. Also ran it in low gear the whole day. Only problem was a revo rod end that popped out on the rear axle after a hard backwards fall/roll. Some CA and aggression got it back on to finish the day. Fixed that and upgraded some rod ends to the Xtra Speed ones. Also sleeved the links with 5mm carbon rod to help with it visually.

Cant wait to see the rig on the trail again. The changes should make a huge difference now.

All in all. Its really fun to drive and it got a lot of attention from the other guys because of the custom factor. And I got it through places and up the mountain quicker than other more expensive rigs.

Pics of it as its sitting now:
