Got to love these rc4wd short shafts. You can easily make them shorter and one side 6mm output the other 5mm output. Can't even tell they were altered.

My heim joints came in. Woo hoo ! 4mm. Built very nice. Smooth as silk and very tight. Gives me about 4" of travel per wheel before bottoming out. Which is plenty. Only issue is I will have to run slw's on narrow wheels because I am setting at 13" for width right now!

Took these 6/32 t nuts, shaved them down and used them as bushings. Very smooth and no slop. Will trim up the t nut later. Very good fit, not slop. Tight set up.

About 1 inch wider than I want. 4" under the chassis at full extension.

I know there not vp’s but the scale counter is pretty high
The build quality and finish is pretty good too I have these wheels when they arrived it had a mismatch of bead ring hardware but that was soon rectified
And nice and cheap

Found a way to add air valves in this style of beadlocks. Even squeezed hard there is no air leaks.

Finally got a little time to work more. Roughed in tub. Front diff mounts almost finished. All motor, t-case, and transmission mounts finished. Got the gold beadlock rings on with black hardware. The seat is the correct size, but I will make a seat in time and disregard this one. Next order of business is the hydro steer. May take a little time on it?

Inching away. Going to be 28 metal tabs just on the front bulkhead alone! Only 8 more to go.Name: 20180221_015427.jpg

Looking pretty sweet holycaveman, have you seen the vp curries front bulkhead that’s going to be released ? Can’t tell you what specific rig it’s for but looks pretty bombproof !

Quick question are you brazing ?

Those do look nice! Yes I am brazing. Using copper/nickel alloy.

I'm still using Silver solder but I'm using a copper nickel alloy tubing it seems to braise a lot better and smoother joints it flows easier in my opinion.

It also stays pretty soft so you can bend it easily just with your fingers until you put heat to it then it gets hard and rigid.

Wow that sounds amazing stuff , Iv only ever used silver solder and 6mm stainless steel tube but never made any cages or anything just several small projects for work and gagging to get started on a bouncer build found a chap online that makes benders specifically for our purposes
Jawbreaker bender it’s called check it out cool bit of kit allows you to bend 2 tubes at the same time to get perfect symmetry from one side to the other .

Little more progress done. Got my front ram built for the steering. Pretty excited to get the steering to a working status.
