Yah. I only pre-ordered two pairs or it would have been sooner. Haha. Got a third pair from supershafty.

Thanks JRH. I have a 2200 stubby here that should be a good motor for it.

Indeed. Indeed.
I wanted to use a set of the 2.2 Hutchinson TSS wheels but the offset is too great. Thought about cutting them up and TIG’ing them back together but they probably wouldn’t turn out clean looking.

And a yeti MIP rear shaft fits perfect, without any need to cut and reweld.
Full bump

I wonder how long those 3D printed portals are going to hold up after dragging on rocks. Do you have any previous experience with them?
Portals hold up just fine. Been running the first set for months with no issues.

theres a structural engineer/cage designer somewhere literally slitting his wrists with that design.

but its the wacky style weve grown to love from the szcz camp!

Thanks mang. On vacation now but will get back to this soon. Lots of small detail work to be done or made and I am inching along.

Just another crawler! Haha
Bender is a working prototype from a friend.

I did get the axles all built and greased and the main components chassis of the chassis done.

2.2” wheel under the axles. Tires ~5.25” on 2.2 wheels

Not really. I have figured out the custom battery layout and made an interior floor template. Right now, my 2 year girl and 5 month old boy are alot more fun and entertaining than finishing up this build. haha

I don't blame you there man. if you ever part with it, even unfinished I would love to have a crack at. Its just such a cool and unusual design.

Got a wild hair to work on this some more.
Not a ton to see in pictures but lots of chassis fabrication.
Threw on some taller tires just to gauge proportions. Probably won’t go this tall but could be close.
Need to weld tabs for panels
Dismantle and finish building the custom transmission
Make an exhaust
Finish build axles
Make front driveshaft
Make custom lipo
Decide on motor
Paint

Took me a little bit, but it’s pretty dialed in for being such a belly dragger. Ended up going to Casey at high altitude performance rc and designed a custom 35% ish rear motor over drive trans that uses xr10 gears. Added and removed some tube work, made some titanium links. Designed and 3D printed a few parts and shoved everything under the floor. I love this rig, but it was definitely a battle to get everything to fit. Anthony Rivas got some pretty cool video of the buggy doing work out at Proline by the Fire this year.
