Put your seatbelt on. It’s a little different than some will like.

The SSD transmission was too long for the chassis and wheel base setup I needed. So, I started taking it apart and staring at it. Came up with this.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...26331489a.heic
New shaft I made
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...30be23c96.heic
Added a bearing just for a spacer and some shims
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...399cba1af.heic
Added these two pieces, still need to drill/tap the two top holes now. Lowers matched up.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...310e2e6f4.heic
Bolted transfer case up
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9eb60bd71.heic
Added back of t-case and trimmed shaft. Parts taken out.

Looks like an auto trans to manual trans swap.

Or desperation to make something fit. [emoji3]

Progress en route. Full bump building, as always.

Cool. I got one of first prototypes of the wheels when they were being designed.

Ok I get it now, the rocks go "down under"(spoken in Aussie) the portals, that must be it.

Oh and sweet build you got going. Where is that tube bender from? I need to get one.

Very cool. Looks like it's going to be hella capable!

I wonder how long those 3D printed portals are going to hold up after dragging on rocks. Do you have any previous experience with them?

Can't speak for these particular axles but other Shapeways printed axles housings I have used are holding up better than most plastic axles. Many hours of running have barely worn through the dye on the bottom of the housing.

Yah, I havent ran printed portals but am running printed rear housings on the 21lbs 6x6 with no issues.
Also have one of the first Bowhouse TF2 printed t-case printed skidplate that had no issues after 3 years.

Thanks. I did the design as well.

About to have to take a break from this build for a vacation but I am ready to get it completed when I get back. Battery hiding/placement is going to be a fun challenge, like the f-toy battery setup was. I have an idea or two.

Very fancy sir. I appreciate that you cut up some tires that weren't even available until recently
