The SSD transmission was too long for the chassis and wheel base setup I needed. So, I started taking it apart and staring at it. Came up with this. New shaft I made Added a bearing just for a spacer and some shims Added these two pieces, still need to drill/tap the two top holes now. Lowers matched up. Bolted transfer case up Added back of t-case and trimmed shaft. Parts taken out. Last edited by Szczerba; 06-11-2018 at 12:33 PM. |

Looks like an auto trans to manual trans swap.

Ok I get it now, the rocks go "down under"(spoken in Aussie) the portals, that must be it. Oh and sweet build you got going. Where is that tube bender from? I need to get one. Last edited by HumboldtEF; 06-11-2018 at 10:14 PM. |

Very cool. Looks like it's going to be hella capable! I wonder how long those 3D printed portals are going to hold up after dragging on rocks. Do you have any previous experience with them? |

| Re: Szczerba’s 61st build, Down Under Buggy Can't speak for these particular axles but other Shapeways printed axles housings I have used are holding up better than most plastic axles. Many hours of running have barely worn through the dye on the bottom of the housing.

#same Thanks! Quote:
Yah, I havent ran printed portals but am running printed rear housings on the 21lbs 6x6 with no issues. Also have one of the first Bowhouse TF2 printed t-case printed skidplate that had no issues after 3 years. Thanks. I did the design as well. About to have to take a break from this build for a vacation but I am ready to get it completed when I get back. Battery hiding/placement is going to be a fun challenge, like the f-toy battery setup was. I have an idea or two. | ||

Very fancy sir. I appreciate that you cut up some tires that weren't even available until recently |
