Default All round questions I rekon

In my stock shocks, bout the only thing not upgraded, could I use lets say 5w synthetic motor oil to fill them with? Is it recommended I should ask?

Sure you could.

It's not recomended. A good silicon shock oil is recomended.

I am not sure if the motor oil will harm the seals.

i run motor oil in some of my shocks with out issue but the silicone is the way to go i also use alot of greese in my shocks mostly in the cheap chinese shocks though becuase the shock piston is too small for the shock body my wraith ran plastic body shocks now on my 1/6 dodge and they have been running 10-40 for 4 years now with no leaks and no swelled seals in genral though patrolium products have a tendancy to swell the rubber so if a manufacturer uses a seal that dosent play nice with oil it could ruin them but i havent had that problem yet with any shock ive ever used i also dont run high end shocks so if i ruin a set no big deal but that hasent happend yet
swelled seals could be a good thing if you have leaking shocks lol

My rig has what is stated on paper as a stock 87t m0.6 spur gear and a 14t pinion. I have laying around a 18t m0.6 pinion but teeth don't mesh well with spur. I'm confused I guess hsp put wrong thing on paper?
