Default Bead lock problems

I recently purchased some aluminum beadlock wheels for my wraith. I had my lhs put them together, I went to pick them up got home and the bead of the tire was popping out on one tire. I took it apart and tried fixing it, it held better but is still not holding properly. Andy suggestions on why this is happening?

some tire beads dont play nice with some beadlocks
i got around this problem by superglueing the tire to the wheel before screwing them together or glue them to the inner ring before assembaling them
the super glue dosent hold on the alum8num vary well it h9lds just longenuff to mount the tires ive never had a tire stuck when removing them i use 4 or 5 drops around the wheel and make sure its 8n the right place and everything is all lined up then let it dry then put them together

i never found a tire i couldent mount

once when i worked at goodyear tires some 30 odd years ago my boss made a bet with me that i couldent get a 12"wide hoosier racing slick to mount on a 6" rim so i mounted 2 then put them on my car and drove around with them like that for a week lol i think the shop got a pizza out of that one lol

point is if you want to bad enuff find a way even if you have to use alittle glue

Those wheels suck to mount. Next time you want to buy more steelies look to SSD.

In the meantime, this is the best method I've found to mount tires on those wheels. Get a long 3mm or 4mm screw, two washers, and a nut. Put the wheel and tire together to get it ready to mount. Then take this screw with a washer and put it through the center hole of the wheels. On the other side of the wheel put another washer and the nut. Ensure the 6 hub screw holes are aligned. Tighten that center screw to hold the entire tire and wheel assembly in place until you install all 6 hub screws. That should work.

Gfrizz423, you've got RC4WD stamped steel beadlocks and Duratrax Deepwoods tires, iirc the bead is not too big on those tires (been awhiles since I mounted a set of them) but that should be ok. Every brand of similar beadlock that I've used requires some patience, I use a little water with dish soap mixed in and applied to tire bead are with Q-Tips, evenly tighten the screws in star pattern and TAKE YOUR TIME. I've found it's best to mount them part way and set aside for couple hours or a day, then kinda work the bead by hand to ensure proper seating, then tighten more until done. If and when they're giving fits, set them all aside for another day and work on something besides tire mounting.

Oh yes start with some screws that are twice as long as the actual screws that came with them and then once tight, replace them one at a time.

I know this sounds weird, but freeze the tires before mounting them, it makes them harder and less likely to be squeezed out of the bead channel.
