Im on vacation all this week so after seeing rckjeeps toyota truggy i really wanted to build one. i used a main frame rail set up like his and im gonna do my own set up after that. But after seeing how everyone uses either the F-350 of bruiser bodies i wanted something completly different. any way here are some specs and pics

14" wheelbase(yes its big)
custom made frame 1/2" square tube and 1/4" brakeline
full tube work
tlt axles locked w/ bearings
leaf sprung front and 4 linked rear
pede tranny with 65 turn axiom
m2k's on custom wheels

Here are some pics so far
I got the main rails and some of the tube work done.

(^^^ the frame isnt twisted its the camera angle^^^)

I'm hoping to get most of the tube work done tomorrow. What do you guys think should i do an exo cage or not?

looks good, i think you should give it an exo, ill open the first pic in paint and give you an idea

That actually looks pretty slick. I might have to do that, if I don't get sick of brazing.

ok i have a big question, what are the custom wheels made from. i need some 1.9 ish centerline stlye rims with the same design. i am looking for some that match the style and i will modify them to make them work if need be. ive been searching and these rims and kyosho pathy rims are the only i could find. any help would be appreciated. ps sorry for the threadjack

Well today I finished up most of the rear tube work, mounted up the tranny, hung the axles and some other little things

I wanted to try to 3 link the rear, but I ran into major clearance issues, so I had to go with 4 link instead.

anyway here are some progress pics

As you can tell from the body I need to do some body work, I've never repainted a hardbody, so does anyone have any tips about it.

Tomorrows list includes lengthening the rear driveshaft, mounted the shocks, I need to make another pair of front springs(not enough arc), making a steering servo mount and winch mount.

Any comments/ suggestions?

Looks cool.

I think you should get some 2.2 RR's and paint it red and silver to make it look kinda like the ultimate adventure avalanche

I got some more finished today. I mounted up the shocks,made another set of front leafs with 3/4" more arc, lengthened the rear driveshaft(couldn't lengthen the front need another slider), finished most of the rear tube work, now I just need clean up the joints, and make the front bumper.

The only problems in the future I see is going to be the turning radius, with a 14" wheelbase its going to need a parking lot to turn around. I'm really glad to see this thing starting to take shape

CVD's will fix that problem! Get them from RCP Crawlers when they become available.

They make my 13"wb scaler turn on a dime.

I always liked my avalanche body, so i stuck it on an emaxx.

thanks the body is off an old radioshack truck. i dont have any pics of the BTA steering. all it was a tierod bent to clear the pinion. with a drag link to the servo.

cjkranwinkle@cableone. net- the on/off switch was for the light that i put in the body. i'm goning to reuse that switch for the head lights i'm going to do later on

ok i got both the body and frame painted up. it is now a roller, i just need to get a radio and some more pede sliders to extend the front driveshaft. i too it outside to get some pics.i was going to get some frame pics but the camera died.

^^i think if the sleds were'nt in the backround it would look real^^
