Here's the stats

Each run was a fully charged, Zee 2S battery.

That's the plan!

Battery should be here Saturday, just ordered a cheap one for now

I'll drop back down to the 14t pinion? Probably speed test both just to see the results

After running yesterday with a bit more speed I'm not a fan of the rock crawler reverse, also don't like the 20%- brake, too much roll

I don't know if there's a way in the Mamba X to include different reverse parameters when in different modes, but it would be nice.

Bouncer mode: double tap for reverse

Crawling mode: instant reverse

Might open it up to get to the link, wishing I had a B link! Also need to waterproof it, finally getting some rain hopefully.

Playing around today, threw the 100mm factory shocks back in, doesn't look that different but handles very different, that little bit of high rear end throws it over itself way too easily.

Whole swapping the shocks I noticed all the play in the rear saw bar links, they are the factory axial links but they have axial plates on them. The plastic ball bushings were almost gone entirely, so I swapped them with metal.

At some point the ball end link on my steering link also failed? Doesnt look bad but it fell out.

Something different, some cheap ProLine Badlands off marketplace

Little shorter, little wider, and way lighter

Less sidewall rolling for sure

Speed runs on asphalt, tires really makes difference there, I can actually make course corrections and turn pretty well. Thought it would go slower due to the smaller diameter, maybe the lighter weight helped?

Rear shock can unscrewed from itself. Luckily I found the cap in the yard

Well, looks like my Savox 1230sg is going out.

With no load, while on, if I put a load on it by hand, it starts to shake as if it can't find center. Still works left and right though through the controller.

I also can no longer push the horn by hand both ways, something inside is snapped or tight im assuming, guess it's time to upgrade.

I noticed it acting funny a few days ago, figured It was the rough terrain affecting steering

Didn't see this last night, that would do it.

Here's a video of what it's doing.

Backup servo is on. I'll just need to be careful

Got a 3S In the mail, doesn't fit in the tray, I'll need to do some research. The lower CG was very noticeable....

And here's the speeds, overdrives would probably get me to 30mph, not worth it though.

With a 14t pinion it'll just about to a cartwheel, a 12 would definitely do it.

17 just smashes the rear end down, but I'm never happy with the way it's meshing for some reason.

Did you get your mamba x set up right? It should go from forward/reverse to forward/brakes/reverse under whatever you have the drag brake percent set to. And maybe try 4s. I run 4s on my wraith, 3800kv motor.

Yeah I reprogrammed it before installing the backup servo

I now I have f/b/r at 50% in my regular running mode, and f/r in the other mode, which will likely strip my spur rather quickly

I might finally get a chance to do some trail riding, the smoke is clear and it's raining, once it stops I should be good to go!

I have the factory shocks laying around I so i added them to the back without the springs. They seem to help quite a bit on the road dip I've been driving through

Geared it back to 17/56 at 90% of the time I'll probably be running 2S

I could series up 2 of my 2S batteries, they are within about 10 runs of each other

I have some DeWalt 20V lithium batteries as well, which would be 5S, I also have a battery adapter with 10 gauge wire leads....

Ordered another stainless steel axle tube for the rear axle, 20$ with shipping, I've been very happy with the one in the front.

Sources out of New York. Will be a good excuse to check the rear axle shafts for bending.

Boom goes the servo, again.

Lasted about 2 minutes on 3S in the backyard, I hit some pears laying on the ground at full speed. (we have apple and pear trees) I usually avoid them but hit some with the right front tire and I saw the steering go hard right immediately...

20$ for 2 minutes, I'm in the wrong business

A new servo is on the way, one I shouldn't have to worry about.

Also here's the carnage from the original Savox, guess I never posted an update here.

1230sg, right in the art bin. Customer service is useless, about 40$ in parts to fix it vs buying a new one for 60$, I'll just consider myself done with the company.

Axle tube came in a week early, axle shafts look good

Had to file down the shoulder on the differential end to get them to fit through the tubes

I'm not sure they are factory?

Removed the 15mm hot racing extensions off the front. Width at front is at 11.75 and the rear is about 13.25

I'm no physics or engineering major, but wouldn't axle extensions provide way more leverage against the steering knuckle? This also putting way more pressure against the steering servo?

Local hobby shop had replacements for cheap so I picked them up, 2/4 originals are definitely cheap aluminum, starting to rip at the corners
