So I also asked them what they run in their bomber, and ordered a set. They recommended their rims, which are probably better built, but I preferred the axial versions

CWR 3303 rear
CWR 1305 front

New rims are axial part # AXI43006

Plastic beadlocks with 6 lug hubs, half off right now on AMain

Everything should be here this week, plan to run the same BFG baja's I have now

Why did you decide to go with plastic beadlocks? Will you be using the stock hex hubs or Vanquish SLW? Just curious

Mostly due to weight. I'm losing quite a bit of acceleration off the line with the metal setups vs the plastic badlands, I also wanted a wider rim so this is two birds with one stone.

Now that I think about it, the two times the Mamba X fan has turned on for cooling, I was using the metal rims.

More than likely the knockoff slw's with the hot racing wheel extensions as well. But I might start with the axial ones just to use them, I've never tried them.

Do you have a link for the slw knock-off? I'm thinking about picking up a set of these plastic axial wheels for my wroncho build. I'm using a set of axial plastic beadlocks now but one of the hexes is starting to round. I'm using 15 mm wheel extensions to get better steering because with the stock hexes the tires are hitting the shock Springs

I actually searched for awhile and was surprised to find there's not many knockoffs

Mine originally came with the cheap amazon rims, but amazon does have 1 or 2 other non vanquish models individually (rclions) but pickins are slim

The cheap ones use m3 metric thread while the vanquish models use imperial screws

For speed you have to go with the two stage piston solution on the back ;)

New foams and rims on!

7lbs 11oz with a 2s battery

Not a fan of the offset at all, so I used the axial long extensions to the hot racing axle extensions, probably the widest the rig has ever been

But instead of rolling when I expect it to, it bounces over or spins out

Hard foams in the rear definetly added some bounce, going to need better shocks in the near future

Ordered some snowballs from snowmod RC, they are essentially oversized rubber ball joints instead of metal, eliminates all the slop between traditional metal ball/plastic coupling.

I have a feeling they won't be too fun to install

I've got play all over the front end, and a hair of play at the servo horn I need to diagnose

Do you have a pic of the inside of the wheel and the wheel extension? How wide is the truck?

Just posted it!

I'm not in love with it, the rims deformed a little at the wheel lugs, I don't have a super slim wall 7mm socket for the wheel nuts, and just not sure how long the plastic will last

WOW, that is wide. I ordered those wheels yesterday. I'm having second thoughts now.

You do not have to use the widest extensions included, the narrower one I places below

Ideally you would probably run a slimmer vanquish hub

The problem I'm running into is

1)I'm missing some screws
2) I'll.have to drill out the light holes on the rims, the axial lug bolts are the next size down

Yeah I'm probably going to remove them

Just trying to figure out where to go from here

Real vanquish hubs, although quite the investment, seem like the best solution

Don't find the issues until you take things apart lol

Both rear pins were snapped, not sure if it's from me over tightening them, because my socket didn't quite fit in the plastic extension, or from use

Either way it caused the hot racing extensions to dig themselves into the vanquish lockouts

Alright current setup Is chanquish hubs with the hot racing extensions, I ran once without any extensions and the rolling is just too bad.

Although I have ordered some chanquish 850 hubs as well

Hot racing extensions don't seem to rub when the pins aren't broken of course

DANG! That sucks. I like the extensions. I'll have to pay attention when I put mine back on as I have a bad habit of over tightening things.

Not gonna lie I thought I heard a click on one of them them but I assumed it was the plastic washer settling in the new rim, it was a very tight fit

Ran the truck pretty hard today on the wet pavement, we are meeting at the u4 track tomorrow, not sure what the weather will be though

No race today just playing around with a Lasernut on the track

So far I've seen 2 lazernuts run out there, and both were broken rather quickly

I can't say I was off better, I lost a barrel nut about 2 packs in

New foams are MUCH better, other than bad landings I'm rolling much less
