Default MT Ryft

So I joined the Ryft club today and after drooling over the build I ripped the electronics and installed what I had on hand. Motor is not ideal but it'll work till I decide what I want.
Not exactly sure what I'll be doing but I know it'll be build to handle abuse and climb the rocky terrain we have here.

Man that black is looking good!

What electronics did you put in it? Did you run it with stock electronics?

I'm mixed with the colors, love the looks of both.
Installed what I had on hand, mambax 3300kv savox 1256 on 3s. It's plunty of power for what I want altho I plan to go 1415 2700. ;)
I did not run stock, figure I would rip it out and try to give someone a good deal.

I decided to pull the rear apart even tho I don't have my locker yet and was happy to see some fluid. I added 100k to rear and its a big difference from stock but still not enough for what I want.
That throttle twist is ridiculous.. lol so needs to be addressed..
2 packs ran and so far no broken parts..

The manual says it has 1 million weight.... I put 20 million weight and it feels locked with a little give.

Maybe a drop.. lol mine spun free, more then any of my race rigs. The 100k I put in seems stiffer then stock but it's not close and would definitely be interested in 20m if I wasn't going with locker.

Could I ask a big favor...?

Since you have the motor out, can you give the diameter and length of the can?

I'm curious because I want to find the closest Holmes Hobbies replacement, size wise.

Its 36mm x 60mm. I told myself I was going to leave everything stock but I put in a LRP 10L sensored motor in with a mamba x. I didn't measure it before I put it in but if you look it up it says 70mm long. Fit with room to spare.

Many thanks for that, I was wanting to determine what Holmes sensored motors would fit.

So a PULLER PRO BL 540 XL (36x63mm) has extra space, as does the PULLER PRO R 540-L V2 (36x60.5mm).

Good to know!

I’ve got a 2650kV 4068 sensorless and 80a ESC in my Bomber. If it would fit it would be a decent combo that I already have on hand. 2mm more OD and length shouldn’t be an issue.

I got a 550 6.5t sensored TUrnigy SC motor languishing in a box somewhere. Oh.. and a sensored 3670 long-can....13t pinion in the gearbox.. Could be exactly right. Hmm..

*wanders off, mumbling incoherently to himself*

Well I'm on lockdown for a few days do to someone testing positive for the flu and naming me as a close contact so I went head first into my ryft.
Installed lockers in center and rear diff and added 100k to the front.
Rebuilt shocks and limited them to lower the stance and heavy oil.
Also installed the trailing arm supports.

She's a little stiff but I think it'll work well for hills and the lower cog can't hurt.. ;)

Got out today to do its first heavy run with the first set up. My castle 3300kv thermaled mid way threw the first pack so not slot of data but enough to adjust and tune. Locking made a big difference in handling on hills but still keeping steering with open front.
I ordered a team brood 550 motor to get me on track with how heavy this rig is.
Rear shocks I changed to 40 oil and bench test looks responsive.

Motor is now installed and seems to be a much better fit then a 540. First time trying a Team Brood and the quality is on. Stupid amounts of power on 3s and I'll stay with it.
Was hoping to get out for a run today but we got snow and I'm not into having to deal with the mess after.

CI is 6 battery packs and three different drivers total on our orange ryft and the front case finally cracked on the short side front axle housing. We left it stock and now debating on what to do next. CI purchased the Losi LMT the same week the ryft arrived and well, I would have never purchased a ryft. Even though the LMT is a different platform RC, it is such a joy to drive compared to the ryft. The ryft is nearly on par with the quality of the XR10 which isn't good for axial.

You are fortunate to receive your upgrades. I'm looking forward to read how you like them and how the ryft performs for you.

Sheesh. Another broken Ryft. It’s becoming the Cyberpunk2077 of RC..
