Upgrades for the Ryft

Yes, the stock rtr is not sensored, and is geared high magnifying the "cogging". Cogging is when the motor does not have enough magnetic pull to jump to the next pole, so it bounces between them. It's really annoying at slow speeds, a sensored system minimizes it, yet doesn't totally eliminate it.

Yeah mine cogged pretty bad at first too. Adding the 2 speed trans helped at least with 1st gear it was better. I also changed the esc settings and dropped the punch setting to the lowest and also the timing I set to 0. That seemed to help it some more. I will probably drop a 15t pinion in to help even more to have some semblance of manners at lower speeds. Minor tweaks but seemed to help a little. Reducing punch also keeps it from launching the front end off the ground instantly as well.

What servo maybe pulling too much voltage or amperage for the stock esc?

Like how jittery? vibrating like or actually twitching the wheels? I have had a few servos do this that didn't play nice with my radio system, but they basically just vibrated a lot and got warm quickly. Had something to do with analog vs digital and one was digital but didn't have enough resolution to make my radio happy so it kept twitching trying to find center.

FYI this is not an area that I have much experience with other than a few couple times and it was solved with using a different servo.
