yea its an odd name but my kid puts his almost stock trx4 more places then i go cut/choped brazin scale atl pro v2 chassis ( was way to long for this jeep body) vanquish capra axles ( i need better portals but dont want brass any recomendations? i went with gpm but there sloppy) mamba mini crawler esc holms stubby 2200kv tgh 2.low 60 sput 9 tooth pinion brazin links proline shocks holmes shv650 servo currently sitting on 2.2 irok's will be on the 2.2 klr but waiting on some h-tech rims to show up from south Korea after redoing the sliders 16 times and the servo mount 22 times and the rear body mount 10 times i now have the body placement final! just gotta get the rear body mount to print nice got the servo showed up high enough the axle bottoms out on the chassis and not the servo horn hoping that leavs enough room for a panhard bar. will be working on designing mounts for that next since i cant find one for the vanquish axle waiting on some Polycarbonate carbon fiber filament PP+CF to show up looks like the lightest and strongest filament ( trying to cut weight on this truck even tho the tires make it super heavy) then gotta design some bumpers. had some .1875 dom show up! i dont think i skiped anything but heres the build so far! coupple updates designed and printed out panhard mount for the chassis and for the capra axle. ill probly end up redoing the body side and having it out of metal so i can extend it to make a bumper but much easier for trial and error on the printer! full garbage can from trial and errors lol but now that everything is good its time to print them in polypropylene carbon fiber! super light and strong to shave a little weight off |

Looking good, though I'm a little biased towards a YJ. I'm curious, why the chassis mounted servo instead of just putting it on the axle? Doesn't look like you are trying to fit into a comp class. |

I was thinking the usd tires you had a picture of were larger than allowed. Maybe not. Other than the recent build series Josh and Matt are doing I don't really follow the comp class stuff. Either way it looks cool. Interested to see it finished out. |

yea i havent ever been much of a comp guy i just want something that can be since theres plenty of it around me in the summer. im excited to keep going my wheels should be here Tuesday so i can mount up the usd stickies. then im gunna do a little bit of interior and some sort of body work( im not patient enough to sand and smooth to make it perfect) might print up some headlight buckets ordered a metal grill so i can scan that into fusion to design them off of wish i could find the window set but appears discontinued also going to test it out tomorrow at our local place will try to get pics of it in action. and try to break stuff or see what i need to change | |

went and got some time on it. thing preformed amazingly! redoing the panhard mount in steel tho made the same design on one of my other trucks and broke that one twice in a coupple hard rollovers. but gives a good excuse to design a winch bumper. i thought i wanted a servo winch but after holding one of my winch bumpers up next to it that changed my mind. could always use this as a dummy winch later when the holmes comes available but for now ill order another winch like this did break my rear body mount after a coupple foot drop so not sure if i should keep that part printed to save the hard body or redo it out of metal and make the rear a hindge to make getting the body off allot easier Last edited by ben h; 02-21-2022 at 06:45 AM. |

Do you drive the TRX better than your own RC? When you say he beats you what specifically does he do better? I have built a few TRX4s and they are grossly underestimated. Other than crappy steering and oversize and overweight bodies than can do pretty good out of the box. |

have been waiting on the bumper. parts finally showed up so welded it together and got it mounted! had to cut the body back a little for the winch wires to fit and not get cut up ( will have a different winch but have this for mockup) kinda looks sweet! waiting on a few metal parts to show up to make the rear body mount. cant print the one i designed in a strong way so making one out of metal ( broke on a small tumble) |
