Default My new Budget Alu/Carbon 2.2 Build. Crawln/Trail

I buy this Roller cheap locally. Older model. 180 in US$
Brand new in box.

It has some hop ups stock. I did screw off that rear wheel bar.
Dont like it. Also mounted 15mm hexwideners. Total 30mm more wide
1inch+

2.2 bedlocks alu, waiting for my new Proline 2.2 Hyrax tires,
they will Arrive tomorrow.

Removed extra spare wheel rear, and cage removed rear.
Save some weight, from rear, looks better also atleast i like this clean style
better.

Here is the Hex wideners mounted

Chassis details stock roller, no electronics

Bonus:
Got this AK917 Porsche street car also, new. Roller Alu chassis.
Installed Foam wheels to it.

Need remove that extra spare wheel too

First cars i have buy with sparewheels stock, fully functional ones.
Funny both have this. I dont drive RC Cars with extra wheel onboard.

Next thing
Mount the 2.2 wheels alu bedlock and proline tires when they arrive.
Then mount electronics. To both new cars.

Im not 100% shure what combo i will have in this new crawler.
I want a 2in1 combo. Brushless i believe, thinking about
the 2300kv HW PRO FOC.

I like the Cheap price Fusion SE 1800kv is sold for.
Just afraid it will be too slow for fun trails because this is just
single speed rig.
I will most do Crawling, anyways trails sometimes too with this new
2.2 build.

Maybe i need cut of the black fenders, and rise the body abit also.
Stock body mounts allow me to rise the body about 1inch.
So it will be easy if needed.

Need also reinforce the body with walltape and shoe goo alternative.
E6000

My new Crawler is the Outback Fury Extreme Roller. Got it cheap.
Looks high quality. Nice parts. Carbon and Alu.

I think it will look great with 2.2
45kg servo is on the way also.

More pictures and info after i got new tires mounted and so on

Tires did arrive today.

Hyrax 2.2 Predator Super Soft.

I have mount one so far. Many Screws. Hard work
I will do two per day. I use Marine grease at the screws so they dont
stuck there.

I need cut this body Comp Style because the wheel-size.
And i need more wide wideners also. I have 15mm wideners now.
Need change to atleast 20mm, maybe 25mm

Rims are cheap Bedlocks from Aliexpress, 32$ all 4 with shipping.
I have another set of these in other color, and they are good.
Only down side is alot Screws in this model. Hard change tires later.

This Crawler come stock with 14t pinion, i did buy one 12t because
the big wheels.

I need soon order Motor combo to this also.

Now i need cut the body, order 20-25mm wideners. And mount the
rest of all tires. Also check oils and things in this.

This is same car like the RGT EXTREME in US. Here they are FTX Branded.
Quality is very good they say.

Done some new things. This is going slow

All 4 2,2 Proline Hyrax Predators mounted on alu bedlocks.

I keep these 15mm wideners.

I have remove Bumpers. Radiobox. Battery-tray Side trays.
I did Strech the Wheelbase to max. From stock 313mm to 328mm / +15mm
Did some shock work, and also filled more grease in diffs.
All driveline grub nuts changed to better brand: TEKNO and Red Lock Tite
Check everything and added more Blue Lock Tite where it needs

Compared to stock
This is now +15mm longer Wheelbase
2" wider , 1inch every side, 15mm wideners, and new wheels 10mm offset
Bigger tires and shock work has made this about 1inch higher. So 25mm
more Ground clearence.

More wide+longer+higher Ground clearence

Next to do:

Install Electronics. 2300kv Fusion Pro 2in1 Combo.2t smaller Pinion to stock.
Make custom smal battery-tray to front of this car 1500mah 3s lipo
Buy Proline Cliffhanger comp body. Paint it Blue candy with redbull logos.

Test run it, and then start play with weights to have better balance
these will be placed low down.
Then i will also buy 11% Overdrive to front. These are out now finally.

I have a feeling this will be good and fun rig. Propably very capable also.
And good looking.

More to come

I have been thinking now last hour about this build.

This is mean to be budget.
So i skip Proline body+paint+redbull stickers (80bucks)

I will use this 80$ to buy one aluminium 2speed transmission insteath.
Alot more fun and better. Then i will be fine with just cheap Brushed
combo also.

I did order iSDT 70 ESC, they say this is almost the same like 1080 ESC.
You change parameters by Mobile phone. This was only 31$ with shipping
incl TAX. i will buy also Holmes CrawlMaster Sport 550 12T /1700kv 5slot.

Here is some new Photos how it looks now

NEW ESC ordered:

Ground clearence is amazing now.

And it is perfect wide with these +10mm 2.2 wheels +15mm wideners

Finally im happy.
Now wating for Electronics. And i will order the 2speed alu gearbox now.

It looks good i think. I believe this will be great budget Crawler
for both Crawling and Trails after i have tune it in with extra Weights.

So far im happy with everything. Ground Clearence, Wideness. Looks.
And price. Budget , anyways high Quality.

Latest Picture , today after Wash

Very Capable rig. Like these Hyrax Predator 2.2
Happy how it handles. And i love the 550 CrawlMaster 12t Sport i have in this
Top speed is great. Awsome low speed control. Great adjustable HandBrake. Very happy with this
Cheap great Combo.ISDT Bluetooth ESC 70a. very cheap.
35kg Servo.

This rig is only 350$ total with combo, servo, extra receiver, and 2.2 Alu Hyrax
Hard to beat. Very Capable rig.

i have order 22mm wideners in brass, now it has 15mm alu.
So 7mm more wide each side, 14mm total front and rear.
Also front brass wheel weights 68gram each. 136g more weight in front soon + Brass wideners maybe 8-10g each wheel more. About 150g more in front
and 15-20g rear

After these mods i believe this will be one awsome stable Crawler.

Got the Roller Chassis cheap without Electronics. 180$ only at sale, This Pro Roller chassis is normal about 280$ without Electronics.

This is TRX4 Sport Killer

I did broke one Driveshaft
Stock dont handle 3s power and huge heavy 2.2 wheels.

I will install AR60 alu axles, and heavy duty drive shafts.
I love this motor, this is only 1speed and low geared. Anyways it is fast. 12t is Perfect.
If you have 2speed rig, 12t on 3s will be too fast i believe. It is perfect in 1speed rigs like mine.

I have couple issues with the software in ESC. I did new update yesterday. ISDT have new fresh update again.
If it works better this time, then i keep the ESC. if i have any issue i will change to HW 1080.

Servo is slow 35kg from china now. i will change it to one faster and better.

I need more weight at down to this rig, and make it more wide. It rolls over pretty easy, sadly.
The new AR60 Axles weight alot more. And rig will be wider also, stronger.
With AR60 axles i believe i will have very good fast trailing with this rig also, if so, i will try 2speed gearbox. And have alot fun soft bashing also with it.
Crawler and soft basher in same maybe.

After i have change axles and stuff, this is not Budget anymore.
It is on the more expensive side then. Well if it works great then, end price is still Decent. OK. Anyways not budget anymore.

More about that later and i will take new pictures after install and testdrive with the new axles and so on.

EDIT
Wheels
If you like the Orange rims. They are brand INJORA 2.2 . Great Quality and cheap.
Tires PROLINE HYRAX PREDATOR 2.2

Body sits 10mm higher now than in Last picture.
I did use Arrma 1/8 Longest body post. They fit perfect in this rig. No mod needed. Only the Body need bodypost trim because the Arrma ones are Thicker
1/8 scale, they are very strong.
I can also lift it more, like 10mm more still. Awsome

Nice info, i did not know about these axles exist.

I know AR60 are very old. Seen videos that are about 10years old
when people have mod these to standart axial crawlers

AR90 is for 1/6 too big You have buy these right?

AR14b are very nice. Ryft axles.
I want buy these now. I have found them cheap 110$ in Alu
Super tough they say. Like the wideness of these better than AR60 too.
Also i like the weight better than AR60.
These AR14b are more heavy also.
Then i dont need have heavy weight on wheels. Axles will be enough
and perfect.

Do these fit 1/10 axials? This rig is Axial Copy.
If these AR14b will fit then i will buy them straight away.
These will handle 4s also. With 3s BULLETPROOF.
If these fit, then i want buy stronger gearbox and also 2300kv brushless
Hobbywing PRO crawler combo next summer. Or maybe try Holmes Revolver motor at 3s

Im only worried about fitting.
Have you any info if they fit 1/10 axial I and II crawler?

I really want buy these ar14b if they fit. Perfect weight, perfect wideness.
And they are super tough, because Ryft is fast aggressive Rock Bouncer.

I will order also 45kg Brushless servo to this rig.
Fast and strong one this time. Brushless must be AWSOME.
Found one at 50bucks
