Default Just another fj40 2.2

Well I had been working on building a 2.2 bushwacker, however, I found this build on ebay and had to have it. It is a great scale build. A little heavy and needs some reworking. I am going to change the shocks and the springs to Diaz plastics. I want to put a few other thins on it but it is pretty sweet.

It has a R2 trans and TLT axles etc.

let me know what you think, I will add some outside pics tomarrow.

I took it out today for a run, and changed out the reciever for a spectrum, and tires to moabs. Sorry forgot pics of it. The moabs are too large without new springs, need to get some Diaz springs to bring it up a bit. the Drive shafts are too short and kept coming apart, so i will have to address that. I want to rebuild the axles because they dont spin very freely at this point. It's pretty nice that cage and main body come off with 4 screws and the cab is velcrowed on. It crawls pretty well with the problems it has. I need to do something with the steering, because it has a very poor trunning radius but any more and it will be into the springs..hmm what have others done for this without wheel wideners??

driveshaft problem should be simple fix with traxxas sliders

On the wheels, maybe just a different offset would help?

I saw this rig in person on Friday. WOW! What a build. It's heavy as all get out but damn it's cool. The detail on this thing is sick. Double swingouts put it over the top.

Did you try the Geolanders at all? On heavier rigs they seem to work great.

Thanks BMAN... I got the new drive shafts made and it is working great. I actually put the Geolanders back on and they do work better then my moabs. I am getting some of the Diaz leaf springs and a set of internal spring shocks from RC4WD and combinded I hope it can deal with the trucks weight. I also ordered a steering kit from thecrawlerstore and will hopefully get the steering sorted soon. It really crawls well considering the weight....or maybe because of the weight. The cage and kayak really raise the CG and cause some roll overs when off camber. I have been running around the the back yard on the boulders...I love the sprectrum as well.

You gotta bring this thing out to AZRocks. We'll go play at Lower Woodpecker one afternoon. You're coming out on Friday and camping right?
