Nice job on the tires Chris.

And the new mods are making a cool rig even better.

The angle of the pic threw me off. Those axials look great on there.

No, I did, when I accidentally took the pic with that showing.

I was gonna show that after all the tires were done. No biggie.

Not yet. I've been doing some styrene work for the interior and some more cutting on the tires. I'll update when I have some thing more interesting to show than some glue and pieces of plastic. Should be in another day or so. Thanks for look.

So I've gone threw this who thread a couple times now and I didn't see what you were using for a trans. Just wondering if I could see a couple body off shots or even what the trans is?
I love this build except for that its kinda close to mine
Bubba
but your is looking so much cooler.

In the first buildup I used an R2 and an Integy 45T with a 14 tooth pinion. Power came from an 8 cell AA pack.
This time I am going to use an Axial trans.
With the 10T Cobalt Puller I want to be able to run a slipper clutch, for the times when this thing catches air. I want some give in the drivetrain so I don't destroy ring and pinions. Plus, using the Axial tranny will save some weight.

I don't have any body off pics, even if I did you really can't see much. The interior hides the tranny and motor as you can tell from the pics below. I was in such a hurry to build him the first time that I didn't document it very well. I'll show some pics in this build.

I never saw your build before. I really like Bubba. The basic ideas for this build came from my original build of The Duke. The suspension in particular came from that build. I wanted to do a steel frame but I was afraid that with the tube work also, Guido would be just way too heavy to be useful if I did. The Duke Link.

Thanks for the props.

Thanks Robb.
The tranny hump is nearly complete. I got the structure finished last night with the aluminum panels bolted on. Also got the T-case shifters and transmission shifter in place. I'm making some changes to the Art-Carr shifter housing and then it'll be ready for pics. It hides the spur gear on the Axial tranny really well.

I might put cup holders in too if I get a wild hair.

I'm still waiting for the paint to dry on the tranny hump. :-( I painted it 1 1/2 days ago and it's still tacky.

Meanwhile, I got the steering servo and linkage in place. The steering servo will drive a bellcrank "steering box" using draglink #1. The steering box will then drive draglink #2. I did this so that I could get enough drop on the draglink to avoid binding and get it parallel to the panhard bar. Without having the servo hanging down under the frame.
The front skidplate should pretty well hide the steering servo and draglink #1.
I'll be making a more scale looking drop pitman arm for the steering box out of steel and I'll be making more scale looking links.

I also did some more tire cutting.
