Dang I wish I was going Montana, it would be worth it just to see Guido in person.

Looks absolutely fantastic!

This event is going to be insane w/ quality builds!
Thank you Dez. No need to be embarrassed, they are all good in the end. It takes some kind of idiot to put this much work into a toy truck.

I agree, Montana is gonna be sick with all the rigs coming.

Nope, that's all you get for now. No more until the engine gets more detailing and the engine compartment gets finished.
Thanks alot John.

Thanks but it's not that good Mongo. It's no Boyer or Wyatt.

I do appreciate the compliment.. wish you could make it too, it'd be nice to meet you.

Holy crap Griz, that thing is off the hook!
You have definitely been putting in the man hours to make that thing incredible, I can't wait to see it in person again.

Is that a huge piece of cheese used as a backdrop? Cause that's impressive.

I appreciate the compliment Jim.
It's not as clean as a Boyer or Beckworks but that's what I wanted. I didn't want it to look like something build by Campbell Enterprises, I wanted it to look like something a guy would build in his garage. Cuz that's really what I'm doing.
Every rig that has scratch built stuff is awesome in my book, Guido just has a bunch all on the same rig.

I wasn't sure about the orange backdrop at first but it seems to look ok.

Yes, I had it imported from Slotsvania on a private Learjet. I had to pay off the customs agents though.

Did you get the big loaf of bread to go with it? And big can of tomato soup?

Well now I'm hungry.

I've got a picture of Cody with him from Universal Studios. Must be one of his twin brothers.

Thanks Mike, I thought that was a neat feature too.

So Guido went in for paint last weekend, I shot it with Plum Crazy Purple but the color was off. It wasn't as dark as I wanted it to be.
So earlier this week I went and bought some new paint and reshot the chassis. It's a 1998 Ford dark metallic purple. Yes there are some runs, I'm no expert painter by any means.

So far I've got $200 just in paint in Guido.

The last pic shows the frame mounted "steering box".

The paint is still not fully hardened but last night it was dry enough to do some assembly work.
I got the interior in, the panel for the fuel cell, the fuel cell, rear panel, and lights all mounted.

I got the 5995 steering servo from Holmes Hobbies mounted and you can see the drop pitman arm for the steering box. The steering box is from a Dubro airplane nosewheel kit and I made the pitman arm from 1/8" steel.

The servo cover is a Radio Shack electronics box that I cut down to fit. I then filed in a recess where I glued in a piece of styrene paneling to look like a radiator. I till need to pull it back out and paint some more silver for the radiator. I wasn't trying to make a scale looking radiator/fan shroud, I was just trying to hide the servo and make it look something like a radiator. I think it turned out ok. It also helps hide some of the wiring.

The fuel cell houses the CC Sidewinder and BEC from Holmes Hobbies. The RX and light battery will be in another box.
