HellCAT Part 2

Well it's time to rebuild the old HellCAT, when I built this rig I intended for it to evolve into a Trail Rig, but now that I have a High-lift I think I will jump into high gear and skip the evolving. I'm thinking tube framed bed and I'm going to remove the front bumper for more tire clearance. I'll need a whole new chassis for the bed to fit right.

The required artic shots, of course I don't figure I'll ever be driving over this many CD cases....LOL Seriously though the body will probably restrict a lot.

I decided to swap the body for a High-lift, I'll use the jugg body on my High-lift build.

Thanks Darkhorse.

STANG KILLA SS - The rear cage is made from 1/4" steel brake line, 7/16" brass sleeves and 1/8" brass square tubing.

Yeppers, Autozones are plentiful down here, not my favorite auto parts store, but the oreilys brakeline looked like a monkey had been playing with it.

I would prefer no coating at all, it would be nice to not have grind it clean.

ripper7777777 05-04-2007 08:45 PM

Well the bed is done, well at least the tube work, now for some serious grinding.....

Crawler Noob 05-05-2007 03:00 PM

damn, thats sick.

nandez11 05-05-2007 03:36 PM

That is kinda what I did with my hi-lift body. But yours has a ton more work in the tubing then mine. Great work. The onle thing I don't like too much about mine is how top heavy it ended up being of well.

Kyosho Dodge Ram tires, not the softest compound but great in the mud.

The cage and bumper are bolted to the aluminum frame, the front half of the cage is hinged to allow access to the body and the battery, it's a new design and untested so hopefully it works...LOL

cembom 07-10-2007 10:41 AM

Wow rip everytime I see it on another site it has a new part lol. Great exo I love the hinge. Looks great should be super tough. You should ram it into stuff to test the durability haha.

mulchman 07-10-2007 12:58 PM

DAYUM!!!!!!!!!!!! I just had to slap myself to keep from drooling on the keyboard here at work. That is on eof the BEST exo's I have ever seen.
Awesome work. Bravo, Bravo.
Wayne

ripper7777777 07-10-2007 08:28 PM

Thanks, I think the finished rig will be well worth all the work.

For all those wondering, here's a body off shot.
