Default Juggsterrfied Bruiser tuber yota

Here is the latest to emerge from the basement, picked it up from my friend Bryan out in NJ who got it off of ebay from hansolo who many years ago got it from Kevin...this time, I can assure you it wont be changing hands

Its one of 2 that I know of,The other one aggy had but I dont know what happen to it. Custom built solid tube frame wrapped around one of Kevins billet transmissions. Kevin not only built the frame and trans but the sweet front servo mount as well and 4 link shock mounts too. Here is how it looked when I got it

I tore it down, primed and painted the frame. Took apart the rear axle, installed all new rubber shielded ball bearings. I extended the rear about 3/4 or an inch or so...maybe close to to an inch. I installed some piggy back shocks on the back from integy with 30 wt oil and losi yellow springs. I also ditched the stock lower shock mounts and installed some aluminum ones.

The tube works is awesome and very square (im super picky about that) so I was hesitant to cover it up, but I had the rock werks yota body and since this thing has a short WB I figured I give it a try. I started hacking it up, originally I was going to run just the cab, but then I decided to go with a dove tail, I made the tail gate section black and added some tamiya wrangler tail lights to it.

I won the mountaineer wheels off of ebay about a month or so back, they were in good shape except for one, I also got my rock lizard from Corey at RPP hobby and have some black anodized rock rings coming from Kevin at TCS. Going to double narrow the rims. I ditched the tamiya drive shafts for some pede sliders with steal yokes, I have been working on the suspension, got the rear triangulated so it cycles nicely now.

Right now its back apart in the basement, I am installing the front aluminum lower shock mounts, and changing the bearings out of the front axle as they werent rubber shielded and looks like they might have scene some moisture at some point.

For electronics, I have nice small novak XRS and 55 and 35 turn late, not sure which one Ill use. I also picked up a new servo for one of the race clods, so its old on will go into this, I think its a digital hitec of some sort.

Now really sure what direction this thing will take, I wanted something scale that would crawl well, so we will see what it will do when its finished. I missed having my hulk werks prerunner but this thing is just as awesome and its a Toyota so were good to go I may eventually try a set of tlt axles in it, and maybe some 1.9s , all in time....

Thanks for looking
-Mike

Props Mike! Could you post a shot of the linkage at the rear axle from above with the body off?

1.9s are still a possibility, I am waiting for RCP to get the tlt axle kits in stock then ill scoop up a set and see where it goes from there.

I probably will run it like that for a bit, I am waiting for my 8 tooth pinion from TCS to come in, then I can get the motor and ESC in and get it running

Unimoger, thats pretty nice to be pulled from an ***, maybe the heavens.

I have a general question about the axles you use.

In general are they comp worthy? Is there more of a likely hood to break due to the fact they are pot metal?

I cant say I have ever broken a case, in my opinion bruiser axles are alot stronger then most people think. I will say that it is in the driver though, as you need to know when its time to stop... I dont know how they would hold up to BL power, but I run bearings and shim my pinions and I typically dont have any problems. The front axle shafts will break, if you bind the wheel up really badly and try to power your way out with a heavy trigger finger, but so will TLTs. only breakage I have really scene on a case, is I have scene guys break the knuckles arms and the actual king pins.

a lot different in a good way ? I was going to leave it as a tuber with some panels, but I thought this body looked cool. I should have it running by the end of the weekend. My pinion gear and rock rings came from TCS today
