Default CORR Pro-4 Truck

This is my first post on this forum but I have been around here for a while checking out all of your awesome builds. I've wanted to build this truck for a while but have been inspired by some of the recent trophy truck builds on here. I'm doing something a little different though, this will be a 4-wheel drive truck with independent front suspension and a solid rear axle. The chassis is close in design to a spec pro-2 chassis. Some of the parts I will be using:

- Super Nitro Rally front suspension, gearbox and steering
- E-maxx tranny (will be getting a gorrillamaxx 1-speed conversion at some point)
- RC4WD Beadlocks
- Have pre-ordered the T-Rex 60 scale rear straight axle from RC4WD (using a TLT axle for mock up)
- Will be using brushless power, not sure what system yet (any suggestions?)

Here are some of my initial CAD drawings:

This build will be pretty slow, but I will post up some pictures of my progress in a little bit.

Here are some pictures of the chassis and lower skid plate. The chassis is .5" box tubing cut down the middle and welded using a MIG welder. The lower skid plate is .1" thick 6061-T6 aluminum cut out with a plasma cutter. The lower skid plate will be used to mount the front suspension and transmission.

The body that is in the CAD pictures was modeled off of the body I have for it. The body is from New Era Models: http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi...=&part_id=2888

but it looks like the body is originally from the Kyosho Super Eight Landmax F-150 truck.

Sweet idea. I've been waiting for a full on scale pre-runner. Just one question. Whats the notch in the left rail of the frame for??

Here are some more pictures. The notch in the frame rail is for the steering bellcrank to clear. It is shown in the second picture, if you can see it. This is as far as I've gotten so far on the truck. It might be a while before I get any farther on it, I need to start building the roll cage and the rear 4-link (that might have to wait until I get the new axle housing).

Wow, so far that looks really good. I'm planning a build like this, and will have to use this for inspiration.

that will be a fun rig for sure!! ditch the plastic front a-arms and make some out of small solid round rod.... not that you don't have enough to do already!!! keep it up.

The gearing depends on what the gear ratio of the new rc4wd axle will be. I have two gearing options for the front diff, 2.57:1 (close to a TLT) or 2.92:1 (like a wheely king). So I am hoping the RC4wd diff is close to one of those.

I would like to build some tubular a-arms for it, that will come later though, after I get it built.

love it.

i've been hesitant to spend $70 for a landmax f150 body, and this one looks good for half the price. just gotta hope it becomes available soon, or i can track one down elsewhere....

now i gotta make a 2nd prerunner (been putting it off), 4wd it, and paint it up like greaves' truck...

This is gonna be sweet!! I've been thinking of a Tmaxx front end Twin Force rear axle TT for a while. Cain't wait to see how this goes.
