Default Newly acquired Rubi tuber

I just got this Rubicon tuber in late last week. It has full tube chassis, pede tranny, lathe motor, XRS speedo, aluminum rear c hubs, RC4wd shocks MIR Eng. beadlocks and 2.2 swamp dawgs, Tq3 radio and Futaba steering servo.

I have since upgraded to a stronger JR steering servo, RC4wd straight axle adapters in back, refilled shocks with oil, mamba 25 speedo with Holmes OG Revolver, Spektrum reciever and M8 radio and extended axles and wideners. Also trying to decide between tires that were included and RC4wd beadlocks with Moabs (see pics). Oh yeah, I also redid the rear links a little to clock the rear axle and shorten the wheelbase by about 1/8".

I have the following plans:
winch servo
full CVD's
8 cell 2/3 pack
Hitec blue servo box for radio gear
waterproof the steering servo and all electronics
put lighter oil in rear shocks and/or cut some coils out to get it to sit a little lower
Scale details (jack, driveshaft, spare tire, jerry can, maybe a kayak.

Let me know what you guys think (especially which tires and about the ride height, it seems just a hair high to me).

Looks good so far. I would lower the over all ride height just a little bit. I personally like it with the rc4wd wheels and moabs. I like the paint scheme of the body with the partially black hood. I would also look into the caster on that rear axle That pinion angle looks a little bit crazy.

Sweet Casey you finally got a scaler! Nice looking one too. Can't wait to see it in person. I don't know how much wheel speed you will get with that motor. I would spin it up with a little more motor. See ya soon.

I already lengthened the lower links a hair and shortened the upper links to get the drive line angle better. It was a short trial and error in link lenght to find what I wanted.

Thanks,
Casey

Well, actually got to run on some trails today. What a blast, nice and refreshing to have so much fun with an RC. I lowered it some more. The first pic is a pic of when I first recieved the truck, the next three are after all the lowering. Which tires should I use? I used the Swamp Dawgs today for sand, water and mud running. It was fun, definately need more wheel speed though. Putting the XRS back in with a 27T or 35T motor.

I like the moabs. The boggers are too wide. And it definitly looks much better lower. That was the first impression when I opened the thread and seen the first pic, it was too high.

Put in a Mabuchi silver can and gained some needed wheelspeed. Now I just have to waterproof the beast.

When running in water, I assume no one uses foams? Also, do people just put a small hole in the tires? This would allow water and dirt to escape when you are on the gas. This is what is done in nitro racing, as it keeps the foams from breaking down from dirt and grime.

Thanks,
Casey
