Default S-10 Hardbody Build

I've been working on this a little bit and I figured I would post a picture of it.I have two 4x4 S-10s that I drive so naturaly I had to build a scale one.The body is from a Radio Shack Eradicator and I also have one that is trimmed quite a bit, also from a Radio Shack truck called the Aftershock.
Aluminum frame made by me(11"wb)

Thanks.I know S-10's don't have a solid front axle, but some of the 1/1's are converted to them.

Default S-10 Build

Here's a pic of the frame with the cross members and axles mounted. The frame is made out of 3/16 alum.I got it at a place that makes coal truck dump beds. When they trim pieces off of a part they are making they put them in a big dumpster. What a gold mine!Very cheap too.Three bucks for a long straight piece.Another good source for thin alum are sign shops. They usually have a white coating on their alum so it makes it easier to draw on.Thats where I got the material for my clod chassis.Click the image to open in full size.

As much as I despise the S-dimes I like to see something different
When do we get a body on chassis mock up shot?

Unhappy S-10 Build

Here's a mockup pic of the body.Still have to lose the chrome headlights and blackout the grill, trim the flares and the front and back bumper.Anyone know anything that will remove decal glue without harming the body?Don't use a heat gun and try scraping it off!I put a small crack in the top trying that.Click the image to open in full size.

There is this stuff called goo be gone or somthing like that and it works very well at taking that residue off the bodies.

WD40 works great on glue just make sure it doesn't react with the plastic. I have used it on lexan, If you work fast it shouldn't be a problem. I would try a little on the inside just to make sure.
