Small update. Got the links shortened, my wheelbase now sits at 11". Looks really good under the blazer body. I need to move my receiver closer to the front, the servo wires on the Futaba servo aren't as long as the JR servo wires, so they don't reach. Next I need to build a mount for my winch servo, I'll probably build a small bracket behind it for my RX.

I saw this thing all nice and clean once at Mud n Yer Eye then it went down the Jungle and smashed it all up. It's a very capable rig. Nice work on the body work of the scale rig too.

Amen about Chris LeDoux!

I got the winch servo all mounted up today, still waiting to get some servo wheels to finish the winch. Sorry, no pics. I'm too lazy. Any suggestions on how to join the body back together? I was thinking of just building some brackets for the inside of the body, but don't really want screw heads sticking out of the body. If I glue them back, will it hold and how will it look after paint? Anyone that has dove-tailed a body have any suggestions?

Orange and white. I thought about yellow, but decided against it. The orange and white turned out pretty good, but I did run out of white and need to go get more, but my LHS is closed today.

Here's some pics. Still need to put a few more coats of white on it and paint the grill silver.

Looking good Mongo. It's got a real top truck/hardcore trail rig look to it.

My only suggestion would be to do something to make it harder to see all the way through the wheel wells. At least on the front.
Just a pet peeve of mine.

Will do. I've got tomorrow off so I'm gonna see if I can get most of it done. It still needs a front bumper, rollcage in the back, it's gonna get a scale winch up front, still have to finish painting and dove tail it. Still haven't decided if I will mount a spare on the back or not. That's cool that your brother might build one. We need more people in this area to get into it.

Thanks Griz. There will be a battery mounted up front so that will help. Any suggestions besides actually building wheel wells?

On Guido I have a battery tray that I made from styrene. I bent up some wings on it by heating the styrene with a heat gun.
From the front the battery tray looks like this: \__/

That wouldn't be too hard to do since I assume you are going to make a battery platform anyway. Just paint it black and trim it so it doesn't hit the body.

I plan to make a new battery tray on Tyler's Blazer like this cuz I don't like seeing the fluorescent green Venom battery in there. I plan to incorporate a firewall into it too.

Yeah, I already have a battery platform built. I may take your idea into consideration though. It may be something I do later down the line. Thanks for the help.

Didn't get a whole lot done today, but did go to the LHS and came out with new shoes for the K5. While I had the beadlocks apart I put a new coat of flat black on the rims.

Lookin good!!
I think the Losi tires look better under the Blazer body than the Moabs. I put some Claws on Ty's Blazer while we were in Moab, it looked more scale and performed better.
