project salvage(bruised fj40)

well i got a bruiser chassis in a trade that looked like it was in a bad front end collision. this thing was welded, shortened and used as a hammer:?: i am doing what i can to use this chassis. so far it has been a pita to get the front axle to mount up. there is alot of alignment to do on it but i am going to use my other bruiser hybrid as a guide. here are some pics for now....

chino,
I think a body shop would tell you it's a total loss. On the other hand, I love to vote for the underdog. Have at it, and good luck.

it can be fixed easy with some sheat metal and time with a tig....you can do it"thumbsup"

no access to a tig bro. i spent some time on it last night and got the front end aligned pretty good. now all i have to do is some minor tweaking and bacing and it will be good to go"thumbsup" thanks for the comments guys8)

got some progress on this one here. mounted the body, fab'd some lower links and made a chino skid replica. chino's original is so much better!! i have it on my other bruiser hybrid. still have loads of work to do on this one so don't mind the front steering link(temp to keep wheels somewhat straight)

nice work as usual!

take out the wideners and it will look a whole lot better imo.

chino438 10-21-2007 01:04 PM

the wideners were on the axles when i got them. i need to get some tg10 axle shafts for them. thanks for the comments guys8)

andres-tavares 10-21-2007 03:58 PM

hi chino, nice truck!!"thumbsup"

well like clod bosster said, w/out the wideners will look even better!

now i have a question:

why use leafs on front and shocks/coilovers in the rear?? is any advantage? because i dont see real truck with this set up or not usually

thanks!

chino438 10-21-2007 07:42 PM

i'm using the stock tlt shocks for now, until i get some better shocks. but right now it is working fine so far. even on my bruiser hybrid.
