Grizzly 4x4,thank you very much. That link is exactly what i was looking for. Always want to know what i'm playing with. I grew up with the German and Japanese rc brands. The older Traxxas models are a complete mystery to me. It most likely is the Hawk2. I'm still not exactly sure what it is though because the front shocktower on the drawing is different from the one on the car. But there is a good chance parts on the buggy i have are swapped for other parts. One thing i find really remarkable;the holes to mount the tranny to the chassis are marked and drilled by hand. |

Stainless steel, you couldn't find anything uglier...LOL Man this thing kicks ASS, not just the stainless part but the whole design, looks great, I bet your getting hit with PM's requesting chassis. Looks great I'll be watching this build. |

I noticed the difference in the shock tower, but the curved front face of the suspension mounting block and the cap with the body mount "loop" looked the same. Shock towers are easy enough to change. The your tranny looked the same as the SRT and Hawk2 so that's the important thing. That's crazy about the hand drilled holes.

Im not gonna rebuild the buggy, too much trouble to collect the parts. I only collect Tamiya and i don't know if it is worth it to rebuild this car. Will just reassemble it,bag it and put it on a shelf untill someone who wants it comes along. There is not one scratch on the bottom. Not gonna use it in the Bronco either because of the (discontinued) parts supply and the fact it is probably not strong enough. |

Especially after a acid dip and polishing. The material i used is mostly used in the food and beverage industry. It has a very high chromium content as compared to other types of stainless steel so you can give it a very highgloss polish. In fact,if you keep on polishing it will get so smooth you can't ''see'' it any more. There is so much reflection it kinda takes on the colour of the things surrounding it.

A little progress. Took out the solid spreaderbar and the solid windowbars. Brings the weight down a lot and makes working on it a lot easier. The spreaderbar will be replaced with aluminum angle,10x10mm. For mounting the dashboard and the hoodhinges. Did all the work on the suspension set up. The dimensions are final, materials used are not. The coil springs will have a fixed mounting on the axle. And a ''cup'' on the chassis side. This way i will run 50/50 sprung/droop. There was a 1:1,somewhere on the net, that had this set up and i like it. Hope it works. |

The new springmounts. Chassis side of the spring is not bolted to the chassis and can move freely to give more downtravel. |

The suspension looks great, just like what I run on Guido. You will enjoy the realistic action of it. The thing I have found on Guido though is that all the weight in the chassis makes for alot of torque twist. I'm going to put a rear swaybar on and play with spring rates some more to see if that will tame it. |
