First i mask off the line i want to cut.
Then i stick a red hot needle in the corners to make a small hole.
This will prevent the corners from tearing and gives you a nice starting point to score the lines.
Score it deep along the maskingtape and snap it off.

More pics will follow.

Thanks for the pointer about the needle and how to craft the styrene.

Very helpful as I am attempting to build a detailed scaler.

Anymore tips or tricks would be nice.

I needed aluminum lightbuckets on the stinger to withstand a roll-over.
Found a set in my parts supply.
(They came with the Carson 2CV body.)
I will polish the inside to a mirror finish to increase reflection.

Dashboard is almost finished.Working on the (quickrelease)steeringwheel.
Although at first i didn't want the Sema-look the stainless steel and the aluminum wheels kind of forced me into that direction.
So instead of a lowprofile look it will have the shiny retro look.

Thanks,guys.

The stainless is great stuff to work with.
Light and strong.
I put this thing on a scale last night and it weighs 3.146 kg.
That's with a body,battery,electronics and scale items.
I'm aiming at 3.5 kg (rtr) when it's all done.

The truck is basically ready for action.
It will run it's first comp on the first of March.
Nothing official but i'm looking forward to run it against other rigs.
I've got a few more things planned to enhance the scale appearence, updates will follow.

Are you trying to put the tranny in the passenger side of the truck

That seems like a hard task to take but I bet you'll figure it out

The tranny was already in the right spot.
Outputs are in the center and the weight of the motor to the rightside helps eliminate torque-twist.
(It will be replaced for something smaller like an AX-10 tranny)

The hard part is making a removable one-piece floor in a fixed space/cage.
Rigid material like PS doesn't work thats why i chose the PET because it can be folded and bent to get it in place without breaking or damaging it.

It's just a matter of making several templates till it fits just right.

One part of the detailing is working with fabric and sewingmachines and since i never touched one of those i asked my girlfriend to give it a try.

This is the first sleepingbag she made.
It's just for practice, the colors on the actual sleepinbags will be blue but i had to show you guys because she surprised me with a RCC colorscheme.

Thanks.

She told me she will even add a brandlabel and a label for the washing instructions.
I'm very curious what she will come up with.

Another inexpensive trick i'd like to share.
I like to get a cleaner look by camouflaging the wires but the braided cablesleeves don't work for me on offroad rigs.
Mud and dirt builds up and i don't want to waste too much time on cleaning.
I found the perfect alternative.
Balloons for making balloonanimals.
They come in a variety of colors,8mm diameter and approx. 1 foot long.

There are two ways of attaching it on the servo side.
First is with a piece of shrinkwrap on the rubber thingy.
Better yet is opening the servo case and clamping it between the 2 halves.
Makes waterproofing the servo a lot easier.
