Default A few pics

The gear reduction is runnign sweet now and I removed the front rear mudguards cause the back tires would grab them when crawling up over something

The tires seem to deform pretty good, even though theyre tamiya bfg rubber running on very high density foam (almost solid). Shows you how heavy this rig is.

Havent taken it anywhere cool yet, but heres some pics from the backyard:

This thing makes BFG's look soft:

not to be a party pooper but galvanized steel can be toxic when heated, so use plenty...er.. i hope you used plenty of ventilation, very good scale build though!

Well Im not getting it hot enough for the galv to seperate from the metal, and it doesnt seem to smell.. so hope for the best

Heres some pics, took the rig out on my dads catamaran, to an island opposite my house.

Expensive rig with electronics 1 foot above water?.. Bah! thats not risky

Will look pretty scale once I stick some windows in:

the rc4wd reduction really helps, it can get up and down a slope like that no problem if theres enough grip:

It can sidehill pretty good for its weight

getting a bit of rock-rash

Will be good once I get my batteries and charger, then I will be able to run it properly.
I just stuck a blazing star spur on the tranny to lower gearing some more.

Thanks, if I take any more decent pics I will be sure to post em

This thing is almost finished, just gotta get electronics and windows and a few other details. Now it was built kinda on the cheap, during which Ive saved a bit of cash.

So next I reckon I may build a more comp worth rig (still stock&scale of course). Something with a scratch styrene body on the same scale as this the fj.
So what do you guys reckon I should make? Im thinking danas, 1.9 rockstompers/crushers/mudfryers, rc4wd shocks, landy rims, decent electronics - that sorta thing.

So Im thinking either a Fj wagon, Fj troopie or a Defender90, D110.

what would be awesome would be to get 2 of those hardbody 1/8 fj's and make a troopie out of them, that would be unique and would look perfectly scale to

Are any of those hardbodies still about for an affordable price or have they all been snapped up?

I would probably just end up fabbing one. I could put up with the lesser detail:-(

So thats my "what to build next.." rant

So im probably gonna spend some time in 3dsmax and do some concepty stuff I spose

can anyone get those Aioshima hardbodies? It would be awesome to make a troopie/wagon/welldeck without having to make a whole body again!

So yeah, like Im almost over this rig
How about I ship it to the US so someone can drive it around for a few weeks and Tim Magee can take some awesome pics of it.. then I pay for the return shipping

simply stunning! it gets better everytime i see it. maybe i missed it(too lazy to look back), but are you going to weather the shocks/boots? if not than maybe just black boots to blend in as that is really the one thing that sticks out on the truck and doesn't fit with its overall appearance. great build. i can't wait to see the next one!

Weather where I am is pretty darn good, middle of summer kinda thing.
Hmm I may take a vid once I get decent batteries and Find somewhere interesting to crawl. It does look much better outdoors than on a table lol
