Does the organizer of "The Worlds" have a system for gathering informatioin about Rock Crawling outside the US? I'm sure there are good drivers elsewhere as well. Now it seems there is an over representation of US drivers at the Worlds. If this is a true World Championship, shouldn't there be a system for top drivers outside the US to qualify directly to the comps or get an invitation, as many US drivers did? What is your view on this?

We have always opened our doors to anyone from outside the US that has wanted to be part of our event. The only people that have taken us up on our offers are the Japanese.

What I'm trying to point out is that, if you, or should we say we, want to develop "The Worlds" into a true world championship with equal possibilities for anyone to participate, there has to be a common system for qualifying to the championships. Not to mention the need to include the rest of the world into the organizing. Just by reading this forum, you can find that there are big and serious crawling scenes in Germany, the UK and Australia for example. Of course this would mean a tremendous amount of more work and is probably not realistic in the near future. Nevertheless, might be something to consider at some point. In the mean time, we European crawlers could try to organize a European Crawling Championship. | |

Tomy, Its a valid point. Jason and Badger have their hands full so it might be something you could start working on. Start locally, you could get your area organized and come up with a system to qualify a couple drivers like the individual states do over here. Then start working on fundraising to help those drivers that qualify get some cash to get accross the pond. Im sure the RCC boys would be willing to help you get this off the ground then the rest of Europe could follow your lead.

I think it would be cool to see us have Nats that roams from location to location (Disney, Moab, Donner, etc) to qualify for Worlds that also roams to all the coolest crawling spots in other countries. I think we're a little ways off from something like that, but I think we're off to a really good start. It would probably be a really big undertaking to get the ball rolling on that, and once it does, if any help is needed, I would be more than happy to get involved and help out!

hence the problem with calling it "the worlds" this year i dont know if that was a pro-line decision. i was kind of wondering why it went from nationals to worlds when there is no world competition series which is what these people are getting at and it had been called nationals previously.
