Default Highmark and Dad's excellent adventure.

My "adventure" thread will be a little different than most. I took the week off, so I flew up today with my Dad. He's a big classic car guy, and has a lot of friends on the west coast so he's taking advantage of the free room while I'm in town for NWSC and I'm going to save some money on the rental car (I'm 24).

Spilled coke at 8am, awesome.

When we got on the plane I got a nice surprise - apparently they didn't have room for our carry on, so it all had to be checked. My bag had my Lipos, Land Rover, and the Scrambler. United broke the skid plate on the Scrambler, and beat up my RockThrasher painted body. I had some words with the United rep and got a refund on by checked bag fee - but I'll probably ship my stuff back. The bodies not in bad shape, hoping I can find a skid replacement though. The Rover had no issues, a testament to how well bmuzz built that rig.

I was ready to leave Houston ! Got on a much nicer 757, but I'm always a little bumbed every time I leave Texas.

Beautiful skies.

I'm in Portland now, planning on passing out early and possibly heading to the coast tomorrow and / or maybe hanging out with some of the Oregon guys. If anyone flies in and feels like stopping by the Hampton Inn at the airport feel free to get in touch

Thanks! No biggy, just a few scratches and the skid is easy to replace. Could have been worse.

Glad you two made it in safe but sorry to hear of the airport carnage. Glad the Rover fared well.

We'll see you on Thursday.

Pleasure meeting you mate. Running KOL with your discovery was a blast but I think all three of us need faster rigs so we can finish next year.
Let us know if your ever down our way - you'll always have a rig waiting on ya to bash around Vegas.

Thanks man! It was awesome hanging out with you as well, and I'm very happy that the Scrambler is in your hands now.

Working on getting the pics up now.

Pictures!

I focused mostly on video, but I tried to get as many shots as I could. These are my shots from C1, C2 and C3.

Tech

A few of Chino's rigs:

Drivers meeting:

There were all kinds of legendary rigs around

Devlin's badass C3 rig.

Baller's Vicious Taco - another badass C3 rig

One of the "lower" C2 Courses. Two were built down low next to the creek, one was above the falls and the other was on top of the ridge.

CoreyHall's awesome Blazer serving as a winch point for one of the C2 rigs.

MG200's awesome (and controversial) C3 rig - one of the most innovative rigs I saw.

Baller doing work on one of the C1 courses.

Pancho's diet Tundra - my fellow TTC alternate

One of the coolest steering setups I've ever seen - and it performed really well too!

The lunch options - these guys were great!

Lining up for my first C2 course

Scale recovery - this jeep weighed something like 14 pounds and was awesome to watch wheeling.

It's always cool to hang out with Griz, and Guido looks better than ever.

TTC time!

The frame twister - minus the muck.

Couldn't miss the chance to size up the Scrambler and Chino's FJ.

Corey's Blazer and the real deal - absolutely sick.

Another shot with Bub's 4runners.

Lined up for the Truck pull

SH)@#$...

Dinner at Shari's

Hope you enjoyed - here's the link to the whole set.
