2012/2013 Comp dates and locations

ALRC as a group are some wonderful people and I would like to see RC Crawling continue to grow and feel that with the help of other clubs we can achieve this so I am currently working with Rock Crawlers of Atlanta (RCA) and East Tennessee Rock Crawlers (ETRC).

Our goal is to establish dates, locations, and a really good schedule. We would like to have a comp every 2 weeks for those who want a little more comp action and to help with those employed/obligated that can not attend every local comp.

We are also thinking that our clubs point system's will remain intact making our local comps our points series, RCA will have their's, ETRC will have their's. This is not in stone but appears that all clubs are interested.

With all that said I would like to start our ALRC points series out on July 21st 2012. Weather permitting I would like to try Bucks Pocket. All you scaler guys are welcome to bring all toyz to the show we will find a class for you to run in. Also want to point out that 2.2s class will be up and running in their own point series.

I cant wait. We need to show everyone at nationals that the champ comes from the southeast. The more people that we can get in the better. It also brings in some great people and keeps the old farts on top of their game. I wont be able to make the 21st though my kids birthday party.

Just found out I've got to cover some over time on the 21st that was put in last minute. Then its my weekend to work on the 28th. Looks like I'm out for this mounth. The whole work thing really gets in the way of my RC time.

Stone Mountain Park is easy to find. It is located just 15 miles east of downtown Atlanta on US Highway 78. Just take exit 39 B off Interstate 285 and follow Highway 78 east for 8 miles. The main entrance for Stone Mountain Park is exit 8 off of Highway 78.

Specific written directions are below:
From Downtown Atlanta (via I-20)
Take I-20 East to I-285 North. Once on I-285 North, take Exit 39B, the U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel 7.7 miles and take exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. Follow the exit ramp to the East Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park.
From Downtown/Midtown Atlanta (via I-85)
Take I-85 North to I-285 East. Once on I-285 East, take Exit 39B, the U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel 7.7 miles and take exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. Follow the exit ramp to the East Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park.
From Dahlonega/Cumming/Alpharetta (via GA 400)
Take GA 400 South to I-285 East. Once on I-285 East, go past I-85 to Exit 39B, the U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel 7.7 miles and take exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. Follow the exit ramp to the East Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park.
From Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport
When exiting the Airport, follow signs to I-285. When you get to I-285, take I-285 East (towards Augusta). Follow I-285 to exit 39-B, the U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel 7.7 miles and take exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. Follow the exit ramp to the East Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park.
From Augusta and South Carolina (via I-20)
Take I-20 West to I-285 North. Once on I-285 North, take Exit 39B, the U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel 7.7 miles and take exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. Follow the exit ramp to the East Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park.
From Greenville, South Carolina

From Chattanooga, Tennessee

From Snellville/Athens (via U.S. Hwy 7
Take U.S. Highway 78 West. After crossing the overpass above East/West Park Place Blvd. near the Stone Mountain Tennis Center, exit to the left at the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance, exit 8. Follow this exit ramp cautiously around long curve to the East Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park.
From Birmingham, Alabama (via I-20)
Take I-20 East through Downtown Atlanta. After passing through downtown Atlanta, continue on I-20 East to I-285 North. Once on I-285 North, take Exit 39B, the U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel 7.7 miles and take exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. Follow the exit ramp to the East Gate entrance of Stone Mountain Park.
From Lake City, Florida / Valdosta, Georgia (via I-75)

I probably won't make this one, we should be coming home from the hospital tomorrow. hopefully I'll be able to get out and about soon though. My new housings should be at the house with my rc4wd gears and some new scx10 shocks. I'll her the truck ready for the next one though. Where exactly is the upcoming alrc comp at?
