A night run would be awesome, my rigs are lit to the hilt. Remember Ben? Rhonda lit the way down the ditch the whole way!
I would really prefer less submersion and more trails. I completely destroyed a 3013 under water last year, was a real bummer.

to be honest id be coming simply for the trail run. not the "comp" but i may give the comp a whirl.
so id like to see something cool there(trail run).
yeah a dusk run would be cool (night runs are too dark for pics)
and id like the water to be kept to 1" deep. cause i doubt ill water proof, or at least have a way to go around the deep part and stay in the shallow axle deep part.

I'm gonna make it as long as work allows. I hope I can get a few of the SSRCC(sunshine state radio controlled crawlers) to chip in on gas& maybe rent A SUV so we can carpool.

If you plan on doing any of the comp stuff do yourself a favor and be 100% waterproof. 8)
Last year there we guys taking off on trail rides all the time. There should be lots of opportunities to do that.
I'd like to see the winching off your shoe thing not allowed this year. While I don't have a problem with it (except that I didn't think of it :-(), I think it would be better if we had to winch off natural objects or objects carried on the vehicle. I'm bringin a scale Pull Pal this time. "thumbsup"
Be sure and keep the follow the leader event, that one was a friggin hoot!!"thumbsup""thumbsup"
How about a planned trail ride, no scoring, just get in line with and have fun. I don't remember if you did that last year or if that was an impromptu thing....stupid Ford truck.
Otherwise, don't stray too far from last year cuz you guys put on a great event.

The comp is a good time"thumbsup" if the water is too deep you can allways take the points and bypass it. Swimming youre scaler is the best, Just something about running electric under water that makes me smile like a little kid:) and waterproofing is easy
As far as pics at night im shure people like JIA can get some lkiller shots

Night runs, log bridges, winching, mud, all the shit you do on a 1:1 trail. I've killed too much stuff by dunking it, so you might as well give me the points now :flipoff:

Just like at nationals, anyone who stayed for the 1:1 trail ride, knows what i mean, stick around, the magazines will and so will the video guys, should be 3 SOLID days of pure scale bliss."thumbsup"

Double wrapped baloon with zip tie, then sillicone, then zip tie works amazingly well. I totally submarined my warpig last year with that set up and no issues.

Isn't scale supposed to mean a smaller version of real wheeling? The cool part about scale events is when you see pics that make you look twice to tell if it's a real truck.
I don't think the pic below is very "scale" at all, nor does it resemble anything done on a regular basis by 1:1 trucks

It looks a lot like some of the pictures from the tank trap at TTC.

tank traps not a fuggin lake or nothin, just a skinny deep ass hole.

I know I don't want to have to go though a lake but a little creek is fine. SO I think alittle water would be alright but I don't want to ruin everything one my truck. I know I can waterproof enough to go thought a creek or small not deep water hole. but don't want a deep water hole that would cover my truck.
Also were you going to set up a Euro Trials Course. I think that would be fun for the guy with a short wheelbase truck. plus it would be fun to see one.

that pic was from a " after the comp " trail ride.
but we had pleanty of water last year, this year, depending on the run off, there will be several creek crossings, but there will also be by-passes for those who are H2O challenged, but remember, you will lose points for the by pass.;-)

02-10-2008, 02:44 PM
most of the water crossings are axle deep, maybe a bit more. There will be obstacles that will traverse deeper water and you're real issue would be falling off and landing in the deep stuff"thumbsup"
Here's the link to the 600+ pics from last years comp to give you guys some Idea of what you'll be looking at.

Alright I got an idea for the Euro Trials race-do a grind rail. Have two flat pieces of metal at a steep angle sitting parallel about three inches apart, and have the driver drive up too it, slide down it and then off it. You'll see a very short clip of what I'm talking about in this video, at about 2:19: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105491
