they kick ass doug :flipoff: you can hear them tearing and clawing and grab just about anything as you putt around. they will work great on my new project  they seem just a little bit heavier than my BFT's though..owell :D

These tires definately kick major ass!!! One run on them and I am very pleased. I'm running mine on maximizer beadlocks with no foams. The sidewalls wrinkle wall and they bite very well. I ran a few lines tonight that I couldn't even come close to making before. The side biters are a big help too.

well i have had a few PM's asking about the LSTs' between the BFT's.. well i agree with Jeep boy :flipoff: these tires stomp just about any other tire i have ran. i have made several runs and they just wanna reach out and grab ahold of anything they can get ahold of.i am still running full foam in mine. i have ran them on stock maxx rims and narrowed maxx rims.even with looking like a Bogger tire, these tires hold very well on sidehill situations due to the center tread line they have on them.

but as far as a BFT against the LST- LST hands down.. to get a BFT to even think about running like these tires you would need to do a few things to them. first, cut up the BFT's to an agressive tread pattern. 2nd- glue on some sidewall tread like Pete did to his Digler. 3rd- cut more foam out so they can conform around things like the LST's..so why go through all that work :D

there are only a couple very minor things about them that i didn't care for( just being picky) they do weigh just a little bit more than a BFT-very minimal. also, you need to run these tires on a narrowed rim. they are wider than a BFT, but once on a narrowed rim, they are the same as the BFT. but other than those 2 nit pick things, these tires rock. i really don't see me running another type of tire unless i have too

Just to add to Toyota's last comments...
you better have a strong driveline or plenty of spare parts... these tires do like to bite.

:flipoff: :flipoff: i take the hint doug..

yeah, doug was there crawling with me. i had them on my sons' Mutant truck and they kept wanting to twist and break the driveshafts( i have CVD's for the axles)now to put his Mashers back on his truck and save the LSTs' for my new tube rig

i ran lstx on martha for a day about three weeks ago. without foams and no cutting. the sidewall is thick so there is not as much flex as the bfts. with some cutting they maybe a good tire. but i sold them off at the last utah comp. i have to say that nothing matches the giant tracs for the local crawling. as for my bfts they have gone through many changes they were first siped (the siping was 1/8 wide gouges with an 1/8 dremel bit). it gave good flex but the rubber is to bouncy. as the lugs try to grab the flex back to easily so i put duck tape on the inside to make the flex more like a giant track and then took out every other full chevron lug^ and put half foams back in. they finally passed the steep rock face test. the next step will be to take off all the tread and put the maxx mulcher tread on them.

wonder why your LSTs didn't flex? mine wrap around stuff like a girdle would on a fat woman and that's running full foams still. they look like your running boggers with 6 PSI in them :?

Sweet, looks like I've found my next set of tires! I could tell when I saw and felt these tires they would be good for rock crawling. The bft's are soft but the ribs make them stiff laterally so cutting is important. The lst's are already so grooved they flex equally well in all directions, plus the sidebiters are killer! I'm sold! :D

Has anyone thought or tried to narrow these tires? Maybe the width of the imex duallies?

Hey Dirk, My wife said you forgot to leave a tip on the dresser last night. 8O

And back on topic....

Has anyone mounted the LST tires on stock TXT or narrowed TXT rims?

TwistedCreations
08-17-2004, 01:58 PM
hey daddy, why would you want them that narrow?

my buddy ran those duallies on his clod and i think they just flat out sucked. they were just too skinny. i had mine mounted on narrowed maxx rims and they were just about perfect.

i forget who said it about the compound not being soft enough, but i have only crawled on these tires a few times and they are getting torn all to hell and back from them being too soft

I just picked up a set of LST tires from my LHS. :D These look SWEET!

Should I narrow my TXT rims and mount the LST tires or do I need to get max rims and adapters?

Answers... I just need answers... :flipoff:

I just ordered a set for my TXT. I think I'll keep the stock tires on my stock (narrowed) wheels for backyard bashing and get Maxx wheels for the LST's. Standard Maxx wheels and adapters will give you a slightly narrower track width(~1"), I plan to use offset wheels like the RPM StableMaxx wheels to keep the width about the same.....http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000583693&I=LXAFW6&P=K
