Yep, I'll be there. Already cleared it with the wife (cost me letting her go get her hair done, though...) Small price to pay for a little bit of freedom.
Hey thats right by my house! Now what day will this meeting be on?

Looks like Tim got a little excited and forgot to say what DAY the meeting is on. (premature enunciation?:lol:)
The meeting is this coming Saturday.
Gerame's shop can be hard to find if you've never been there before. Turn onto 139th where the tank and the helo are parked. Go about two, maybe three blocks, Look for an early-90's gold two-door Honda Accord with chrome rims and mirror-smoke window tint. (that's mine) it'll be parked out front. If you go around a big curve, and start heading back the way you came, you went too far. "thumbsup"
Yeah I live in that area so I'm familiar with the place. I have trapshooting this saturday from 1-5, so... I'll be there for about an hour or so then I'll have to go but count me in.
EDIT:
Ok, so I will be able to go but there is just one problem that can be said in one word...Parents. I'
m 18 and my parents are alittle bit concerned about this meeting. So I need to ask a few questions for their sake if thats not a problem. Since we are meeting at Eritex, they want to know what kind of business this is and what you do, and do you have a website?. They also want to know how many people will be attending the meeting, and what will be happening at the meeting. Sorry, its for my parents sake.

Eritex Inc. is a company I opened November of 2007. I am the owner along with my wife Kara. We design and manufacture R/C related products. As far as how many people will be there, hopefully a lot, but most likely 5 to ten. We are putting on this little meet and greet to try and organize a club to start holding R/C Rock Crawling GTG's and Competitions. It is a "PG" rated thing at worst, I involve my wife and 9 year old son in most every event I attend. If your parents have any concerns, feel free to have them contact me about myself or the company I own.

Jeez, it's just a R/C crawler club meeting.
No one is going to take you in a dark room and violate you.:roll:
(That's funny right there, I don't care who ya are...)
Just tell your folks it's lots of married, grown men who play with expensive toy trucks on piles of rocks...
On second thought, don't tell them that. Then it sounds even wierder.
Okay, enough joking around...
Eritex Inc. is a owned and operated by Gerame Erickson. It's a machine shop that produces the best R/C beadlock wheels on the planet.
You can show your folks this thread:
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108626
To show them what he does.
BTW, After watching the weather report today, I don;t think you're gonna want to go trap shooting on saturday. High between 28 and 30 on the forecast.
I know that's too cold for me. After the trigger finger freezes I'm done.
Thanks guys, I'll let them know.
But as for the trapshooting, we shoot in any weather but tornados and lightning. Its very rare for trapshooting to be canceled.

Okay guys, today is still on. I am getting ready to head to the shop here soon. And just to let everyone know, this is nothing formal. Tom, Jay, and I just thought it would be a good idea to get together and chat. We can also setup a little data base of info on the guys and gals that are interested in crawling.
Bring you crawlers and a bottle of you favorite non-alcoholic beverage and be ready to toss some ideas around. I am providing the place to hold this meeting but all of us need to be involved in the decision making.
Well, off to Hy-Vee to get some RockStars"thumbsup"

My daughter and I had a great time too. She is no longer upset that my Wheely King won't "wheely" anymore. She wants her own crawler now.
We did stop by the LHS and crawl on their rocks for a few minutes until the steering rod came off. (How soon on those servo mounts ?? :))

Hey guys! I just wanted to say I had a great time yesterday! It was really awesome to talk to some local guys... now I don't feel quite as insane.
I'll post up the pics I took from the meeting yesterday later on this afternoon. I think I got pics of everyone's trucks, but in the excitement of it all and people coming and going I'm not sure.
BTW, thanks Gerame for your help with my crawler. "thumbsup"
That servo I got from you was the last part I needed to finish it, other than a paint job (which may or may not ever happen)
But, a project is never really finished, is it? Ol' Mr. Murphy just had to step in...
I took the Gremmie out on the rocks this morning, to run the 'locks with all the bolts in and try out that new servo...
And the transmission blew all to heck. Top gear came out in chunks.
So I'm out of commission until I can get a new set of gears. I don't think Hobbytown carrys them in stock. With as slow as the mail is I doubt there's any way I can get some here by next weekend. :-(:x

Actually, If you order them tomorrow from Hobbytown, you should have them by Wednesday. If not, I've got an extra set in my box (I thought it would be good to have spares) You could take mine and then replace them when you get some in.

Gerame, Actually, I thought it looked like you were singing opera or something.
Maybe an audition for American Idol?
Sorry guys, I apparently need to figure out how to hold this camera without shaking it.
This thing is too small for my mechanic's gorilla hands... I feel like I'm gonna break it. it's almost impossible to hold the thing and push the button for the pictures without moving the camera just from trying to push the button.
Kwkride: If I can't get any in to the Hobbytown by the time the GTG rolls around, I'll take you up on that, and I'll just slam them in real quick wherever we're running at, and I'll give you my set when they get here.
BTW, I'm trying to put the names with each truck.
Kwkride had the Wheely King
Sparky0068 had the Axial
Zeek had the tracer-converted TLT
ThaClodKing had the Exo'd Yoti's (and that Blazer!)
Sniders1975 had the Tank
But who was the guy who had the Bronco? (that I didn't get any pictures of... dang it!)

Nice line up guys. Glad to see I have something to look forward to when I come back. We have a nice group down here in KC and I would hate to move back home and have nobody to crawl with.
For a first meeting 9 sounds pretty awesome!

Unfortunately, I won't make it this weekend. My son is in the state tournament for power lifting. Will you be near Bellevue this week? I could bring the gear set to work.

Eritex, when we were talking about wheels the other day, I think you mentioned some that you had a narrower offset for the WK? Are these available now? I assume that I should add weight to the front wheels too? What is the best way to contact you about ordering a set of wheels? Should I just stop by the shop?
Sorry to have so many newbie questions.
Thanks,
Jim
