Just wanted to remind everyone about the SCRC meeting tomorrow at HobbyTown USA in Naperville, IL starting at 1 o'clock. Hope to see everyone there "thumbsup" Just curious, I haven't heard much mention from anyone about Super Class rigs, any of you guys have Super's? I'm hoping that we can have enough people with Super's for comp action this Summer. Here's a pic of the Pimp Cane I've been building:

We have some good news to discuss @ the meeting so I hope to see as many members there as possible... Also, I took yesterday off work and worked on reconstructing a portion of the course, its not done but, we now have some more verticle climbs and more concrete area along with a place to add a little bit of water.

I keep thinking I should dig out all my parts and build another super. Problem is I have 3 2.2 trucks under construction already."thumbsup"

Good News huh? The suspense is gonna kill me
I will wait on picking up supplies for the fence, I would rather see what we have, do some measuring and hit Menards across the street. I will bring my tools and stuff, and I can hang out after the meeting for awhile to work on the fence or whatever if necessary. Very happy to hear about the work you've done to the course, can't wait to see it "thumbsup"

You should make a Jet Designs Super Class TVP Jeff, would be cool "thumbsup"

I have kind of gotten out of the business. I usually just break even on the ones I do build and sell. If there was enough interest from the club I could do something for cost, making it a just job takes away the fun and turns it into a 4 letter word (work). Just watch, Ill turn around in a week and have people demanding "Talon" chassis'.(lol right)

Prolly not a bad idea to wait on the supplies...I know we need a small piece of plywood for the backside but I want to wait until we discuss some things (hint hint)

Where's everybody at? Any SCRC, or Chicago locals got Super's? I know Mnster, his Bro and several other MWRCAer's got Super's, I'm hoping we can have a good number of competitors for both 2.2 and Super classes this Summer?

I have a super, but I am far enough away that I can't make every comp.

I may be traveling out your way for some comps this summer.
Gas prices suck, but I'm really itching to compete in some comps.

My 1:1 is falling apart, wheel bearing, UCA bushings, fan clutch, exhaust manifolds and muffer and a bunch of other stuff went apart. So if I can get it fixed tonight or can borrow my sisters car, I'll be there.

Yeah Supers are where it's at for me, I hate 2.2's.

Sucks about your 1:1 :-( Sorry to hear that. Seems that my Chevy has several malfunctions per year..... knock on wood..... Hope to see you there tomorrow "thumbsup"

I can't wait for winter to be over, I've got cabin fever big time. Looking forward to driving my rigs outside on some real rocks!

Exactly, there is just something about natural rock in a natural place that makes it way way more fun.

Ben go buy a gas saver. I got my 2000 tracker with a tick over 100,000 for $1500. I am saving around $75 a week in gas.
I plan on hitting the supers hard this year, with a totally out there aproach, shorter wb and smaller tires.

I've thought about picking up a car, then just keeping my truck as a winter beater, weekend wheeler. It's not worth anything anyways. The roads around here are absolute hell potholes and choppy I get beat to hell. It's just living with my folks I have no where to park a addtional car. Our driveway is shaped weird, hard to explain sort of funnels to the garage doors. No one in my family looks when they back up.

Small tires are the way to go, I hate the Xl's I'm running. I wish I could go back to the older style moabs. My old worn out set out performs the XL's at devils lake.

Shaft diven to boot"thumbsup"

Move out all the room you want then Ben. My back yard looks like a junk yard. I did end up selling all but one of the axles I had, but acurried two more trailers.

Yeah everyone always asks me why I want to move out. I tell them so I have space for things and they just look at me like I'm nuts. Parents don't want me to leave, I told them I'm out of here by the time I'm 23. They don't like the idea, I guess it's because they wouldn't be able to control my life anymore.

Jet and Ced, as you can tell I didn't make it there today. Hopefully everything went well. I was up late attempting to make a list for the autoparts store.

Things went well, about seven people total showed up. From what I can tell there doesn't seem to be anyone with super's, I'm a little disappointed that there's not more interest, I think a couple of guys may have one by Spring/Summer though? I guess Leisure is talking about putting in a large crawling course down at their RC compound, by Joliet. They have a huge outdoor nitro track, oval, and indoor nitro track already, and paintball is across the street at Challenge Park. Leisure has asked for assistance with course design so Jeff and a couple others are meeting up with them today, thank God they have enough sense to ask experienced people, otherwise I guess they were going to just dump a crap-load of stone and rock in the area and call it a crawler course  I guess the area is 75' across and fairly deep too, may have some potential? But of course they will be charging admission, probably prices like six flags or something......

As for living with the parents, free rent is great, but freedom and space is great too "thumbsup"

Cole: Got any pics of your super? Or is it in the design phase only at this point?

Jeff: Sorry I couldn't make it down to Leisure today, I ended up just going home, too far of a drive this Sunday, got stuff to do, hope it goes well.

Ced it's in design/parts gathering phase. I need to trade some 2.2 stuff for some super stuff.

I have:
Axles
motor
batteries
gear reduction
tires
servo's

I need:
tranny
rims
and wheel adapters.

I may build a bomb proof tranny. I have 32p metal gears I got a long time ago for a tranny, just never finished it.

I may have some wheel adapters for you. I've got:

23mm x 12mm with offset
17mm x 12mm with offset
14mm alum clod style with no offset
and some TMaxx 17mm with offset, I drilled one to fit TTR CVD's, but didn't like the offset etc

Let me know if you're interested, all but the TMaxx are like new.
I would make you a good deal.

The area at Leisure Hours looks good, Jeff seemed to like it! Bernie sounds very interested in getting this going as soon as it thaws out around here! He's going to have more than enough rock to use there and we'll all have to set up a work day for building the couse when we find out what all is going on! "thumbsup"

Area looks to have good potential. The Best thing I heard him say was that Practice would be free (as long as you have a GSM radio). They are only looking to charge for comps at this point and it seems they are open to lowering the price from their normal $15 down to $10 and having trophies. They are also open to the idea of trading work for free comps, what I mean is the club having a work-day to help carve the hillside and set some rocks and they would let us host a comp or 2 for free. The area is a little smaller than first thought, closer to 35' across and about 5' tall. If things go well, we discussed adding to on, the backside of the offroad track is about 10' tall @ approx 70* angle and a good 100' long. I realy like the fact that they contacted us to get some input, like Ced said, they realy didnt have a clue what crawling was like. From what I saw @ the facility and from talking to people, LHR is into doing things fullbore, as long as there is enough interest I can definatly see them making a worldclass manmade course (just like their roadcourse is).
I took some pics, Ill try to draw some ideas up and post them someplace...

Sorry I missed the meeting, just have too much stuff going on. But can't wait for all this white crapp to melt, I'm really starting to hate winter. I'm in to help out building couse, Joliet is not too bad of a drive, only a 2 hour drive from Rockford. I made that trip last week when I went out to the uinon's training sight for a class.
