brakeline brazing with propane?

can it be done? (the tutorial doesnt say)

im going to be using bulk 1/4" brakeline (i can get it in 25' lengths for cheap)

im wondering if its possible to braze with a propane torch (or do i have to use mapp?) i really dont feel like going out and buying another bottle and different tips (sopposely you cant use propane tips with mapp gas?) if all else fails ill build the chassis on my lunch break at work (huge tanks of mapp gas)

also am wondering what are good dimensions to make a maxx axle based crawler (stock width maxx axles) should i just match the tube chassis/rollcage up to a stock maxx body dimensions?

Dunno the answer to your question for sure but I'd think you could silver solder them for sure.

Brazing even small music wire with a propane torch is a little tedious.

But, I've used mapp in my regular propane torch head for years w/o problems...

what about those mini torches? would one of those work (sopposily they get up to 2500*F)

or would it be hard to use something small like that?

you need mapp. if not you will sit there forever and try to get the tubing hot enough. i can use all the tips i have for my propane bottles on my mapp bottles. you just can't do it on oxy bottles(different thread) I also use the small torches that use both mapp and oxy tanks. that just helps getting the job done alot faster

the last chassis i built was 6" wide at the center(widest part) of the chassis and 18" long. the truck has a 16 1/2" WB. the WMS-WMS is 13" ( same as the wide version maxx)

Does this mean that using a low temp solder (like silver solder), and simply melting it onto the joints (preheated, but not to the requisite "glowing red")? I apologize for hijacking, by the way. There seems to be no real explanation. I have a MAPP bottle and tip, and I got some traditional brazing rods, with a working temp of 1680deg., but no silver solder. Any help?
