Hi, this is my first post , let's make it a good one

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll101/ELBARTO1979/DSC00938.jpg

I changed the position of the shocks , like em better this way , makes for a better crawler in my opinion.

In the stock setup the shocks ( as they where mounted on the side ) sometimes hit rock , limiting my crawling ability, and if pushed further may be damaged along the line.

Hope u can see what i did from the pic's , the rear shock's may or may not fit also on the inside , haven't tried yet.

some pro's & con's

Shock travel is limited , they don't travel all the way, more at the end.
Torque twist hasen't improved , may have made is worse :-)
But i do have :
Improved ground clearance in the middle, the car is a bit higher
more flex more flex and more flex without damaging or stressing out parts, the shock's never bottom out, i left the torsion bar system in ( without torsion bars ) to act as a bump stop.
the shock's are protected and out of the way.

In my setup i changed the springs from front to back as the front was too stiff and the rear too soft , and that's why i'm not using the rear torsion bar anymore.

Grtz, tell me what u think, if you want to know how... let me know.

I think you may be wrong here. Doesn't look like the shocks are binding. Looks like that sway bar thing is limiting the droop if anything.

Tried to fit the rear shocks on the inside today, it's a no go , they fit but touch the upper link rod, so i'm gonna leave as is, wouldn't make a difference anyway just looks.
And believe u me , if my setup would be bad in anyway i wouldn't do it, i paid
for it too ya know. Anyway it won't be long before i get to test it against a stock cr-01 , keep you posted.
the torque problem is kinda solved since it's a speed related thing and i'm now running a novak 55T with a 19T pinion.

Detail pictures on the "how-to" part.

first of all : soft springs in front and stiff in rear, works better on my setup
second : i swapped some shorter bolts for 2 "15mm" bolts and 2 "12mm" ones.

The rear :
pretty simple i guess, you can see where the bolt goes , same as stock but reversed with spacers on the inside.
Notice that the links ( all 4 ) moved up a hole, remain stock otherwise.

The front :
Again not so difficult, you can see where the top bolt goes ( 15mm , didn't have 12mm anymore ) , bottom bolt is again the 22mm with spacers on the inside ( i'm lazy like that :-) ) .
The shock is reversed as you can see, again the link moved up a hole, AND !!! on the otherside of the link it ALSO moved a hole to prevent lockup when fully stretched. important this shit :-).

Another picture of the front, a bit blurry sorry about that.

Nice mod El Barto. "thumbsup" I'll bet it works good, reminds me of my setup on The SuperDuke.

Did you need to go to a thicker oil since the shocks are more laid down? I used to run 40wt.

Thanks ! haven't tried thicker oil yet, might be a good idea however it does take a bit of force to push down the front ( both shocks together )
might be a solution to the sweatty shocks or maybe i'll upgrade to nicer shocks.
Grtz
