ok, so after just playing around for 10 min i tore my new panther tires with the lock out on the rear of my berg. :-(

i knew this was going to be a problem and i wanted to do something wuth it but just didn't have the chance and my new panther cougars came and i had to try them, never though i would tear the tire first time out o -well live and learn. on to the fix

i used all the stock stuff just modified it a bit.

the first pic shows were i drille the new mounting hole, it is 1/4" in from the original hole. i didn't cut off the end because there was room for it and just in case for what ever reason i wanted to change it back.

second pic shows the cut off from the knuckle. after i remounted the link i swung it as far over as possible till it hit the housing for the knuckle, then centerd the knuckle and re drilled a new mount hole.

third pic shows the new mount on the knuckle, i groubd in back round and smooth and you can see it is tucked far in by the rim!! no more ripped tires for me!!"thumbsup" just wish i did it before the first casualty ;-)

They did, it's called the Raptor 1 & 2 axle and in typical RC4WD style, think stink and have not gotten it right yet. New vendors are stepping into the hobby and will begin to leave old companies with poor ideas and poorly thought out products in the dust. Hopefully the older vendors will come out with new stuff to compete.

So I might be missing something but what's to stop the front's getting caught on the steering nuckles? Might we need to find a Mod for that as well?

the will, i made my front 1/4" wider over all, this pulled the tire away a little more, for the moment its the best i can do, just have to be careful.

Is this mod necessary if you're using the stock rims with panthers? I havn't assembled mine yet. Thanks.

Even with stock rims, the Courgars will wrap around the rear arm using stock foams.

But with firmer foams (like 5# Rockhammer Reach (http://www.tcscrawlers.com/5-Rockhammer-Reach-5.25-dia.-x-2.25-wide-RH-M-1-2-each-p-16848.html)) it won't? Thanks again, don't men to hijack the thread

Correct. I'm running the #5 Reach in mine and have not had a problem with it. My buddy is running the stock foams in his and he has a hole in one of his sidewalls. He wrapped the tire around the lockout twice yesterday, but caught it before it ripped the tire.

Hmm..I'm a bit worried now. I have some Meyhem wheels in the new ocm offset on the way. with Panthers on the way as well. I was going to do the rear lockout mod. I guess i'll be looking for other ways to mod the front as well. Startin to wish I went with Rock Claws.
