View Full Version : Anyone With Any Pull With MIP?
Got my AX-10 CVDs, and as expected, the outer stubs mount up perfectly to a Berg."thumbsup"
The AX-10 inner axle is pretty easy to modify to work on the short side, but of course too short for the long side.
All my other CVDs/CVAs that I have sitting around use a larger "ball" than the AX-10 one, and even if you grind down the ball to fit, the hole of the locking hub is also bigger.
Anyone have any friends at MIP that they could possibly suggest longer shafts to? I definitely wouldn't think they would be interested at this point if they had to start over from scratch, but most of the R&D would already be done, they would just need to redo the inners.

I don't have any pull with MIP (or anyone else...) but you can get on the rocks with that setup. Go look in the twin force section, several of those guys cut, sleeve and braze shafts together with success. Someone even did strength tests of weld VS brazing, and some heat treating testing with a torque wrench. I'd still rather see prefab ones though.
If we could have them made like TLT cvd's that would be better also in my opinion. Meaning the outer stub, that way from hard hits and whatnot the stub does not break at the threads. Does that make sence to you?

I'm with 666 on this one, TLT style outers would be better. Either way, I'll buy them if they're made.

Just bad timing on the last two comps. After doing about 5-6 mods at the same time, my rig should be back together Sunday evening. Come hell or high water, I will be at the next comp.
You have to look kinda hard at my rig now to even know it is still a Newage.

A few more degrees of steering never hurt anything. I have no real complaints of their strength or amount of steering, but I can steer mine beyond the ability of the stock dogbones, and I would like the ability to use as much as I can.

No, because I don't over tighten my wheel nuts. Ask anyone who was at our comp today. I took it off some pretty sweet jumps. All of the stubs that have broken have been at the thread, I keep my wheel nuts just snugged up and have had 0 breakages.

I didn't break one but I sure bent one today, I just bent it back and finished the comp though"thumbsup" I agree, there is plenty of turning radius, I just wish the outer shafts were harder.
