I had some mini LST shocks from 3 racing laying around so I threw then on the Losi MRC. Nice improvement! "thumbsup" Reduced the articulation slightly which I wanted and 100 wt oil and the preload screwed down on the driver rear almost completely got rid of the drastic torque twist. :) I definately recommend these to those looking for a shock upgrade. "thumbsup"

nice. how is the mounting situation? what screw size? i would think it would be a larger screw size and if it is did you just go ahead and drill out the mounts i take it? by the way, those things look so beefy on the tiny truck!

I just swapped in a set I had lying around also, but the stock springs are a little too stiff, and it limits the articulation quite a bit.

I used some M3x16 button head screws in place of the stock ball screws up top. The stock lower screws still work.

Are you using the 3 racing shocks? The stock springs are soft on mine.
I'm happy where the articulation ended up. It has too much in stock form.

So the hole in the bottom of the shock is made to accommodate a 3mm screw. The screws for the bottom stock shocks are 1.5mm correct? So are you just using the stock screw and allowing for "play" in the mount?
I don't think it would be a big deal...just making sure that I understand how you mounted them at the axle

The mini LST shocks have a smaller eye in the ball of the rod end that takes the smaller screw, not a typ 3mm. So there is little to no play at all. These shocks fit like they were made for it. "thumbsup"

So your saying the TLT shocks are 1.5mm holes? I think he is asking was there any modding or drilling going on to mount them in any way?

I don't think that is what he was asking and we are not talking about the TLT in any way here, but the answer is no. There is no modding required in any way. Yes, I believe they are 1.5mm. They bolt up like they were made for it. :)

Nice find by the way. I like that they have a ball end at the top. I might be picking a set up.

I just picked up a set but I couldn't find anyone is the USA that had them, I had to order them from Asia so they won't be here for 2 weeks:-(
Bottom shock mount bolts are 2mm. I added 2mmx20mm in order to out board teh shocks on the axel.

Hey all, I see lots of posts talking about the 3Racing MLST shocks - folks love em. I have an MLST at home that I haven't driven in a year or so and I'm thinking about just ripping the stock shocks off of it... any thoughts on those shocks and whether that's a good idea or not?

The stock shocks may work just a matter of getting them mounted to the MRC chassis? The 3racing MLST shocks have a ball on the top mount where the the stock MLST shocks do not. Though you can simply use some fuel tubing on the stock MLST shocks for the upper mount and probably the lower mount as well if the stock MRC ball does not fit the stock MLST shock rod end?
Another thing maybe how well the stock MLST springs work on the MRC? I am pretty sure the 3Racing MLST springs are a little stiffer then the stock springs.
I'll be borrowing a set of stock MLST shocks from a friend to try out as well, but will most likely still be picking up some of the 3Racing MLST shocks since they are proven to work well on the MRC! And I had a set on my MLST a couple of year ago and loved them!

I just took the stock set of springs off of the lst and found some teeny tiny sprink to put around the pistons, changed oil to 70 in front and 50 in rear. Works great!! The springs on the piston also act as restriction.

Losi Mini LST springs fit perfect.
I'm running whites on both fronts, 1 on the right rear, then a green on the left rear.
Here's the whites....I'm not sure where the greens I have came from, but they[re just a tad softer than the blacks that come on the 3Racing shocks.

thanks. never thought of that. i don't have a mini lst and assumed the stock shocks were not as big as the 3racing. i'll give em a try.

thetoyz.com used to stock 3racing optional springs for the MLST. Check em out you might have to dig through some pages.

The green springs are rear stock from the MLST. It had silver as stock in the front. Losi made two optional kits the white soft which you have, and a firm set that was blue.

Ok so I just installed these on my mini. Very very nice. Literally they fit like they were made for the mini and bolted right up. These shocks limit the travel just a little bit (just what I was hoping to get and they seem to be made with very good quality) I put 65 oil in them and they sealed up nicely with no leaking so far. Definite upgrade for anyone who is looking for a quality shock upgrade. I guess Losi lost my business this week but I'm still excited to see the new losi's mini shocks in action. At least now I don't have to worry about my new shocks wearing out and falling off like the plastic ones did.

I haven't. You could always remove the anodizing if you wanted.
