I needed a tube bender for a tuber I am building that had the ability to do tight bends....

I made this one manually, no cnc. While running t-case components today I got most of the model done in SolidWorks. While parts are cutting tomorrow I will try to get in MasterCAM and get a run time. I will build a price off of that.

the way it looks to be designed. it looks like you would have to replace a lot of the part's to do a different diameter. just the way it looks to me. may be there could be separate parts made to allow different diameters. :)

There are a million things I could do, but in the end it all comes down to cost. The coolest tool in the world does you no good if you can't afford it;-)

would it be possible to make die set's that could be purchased separately. just like the real tube benders you know this could be the basic kit and then you purchase different die's. just an idea. i think most people are OK with 3/16. so people who need larger could purchase them later if or when available.:)

The reason that you work these long hours is because you sell you stuff to cheap. :) I know that is not the only reason. I was a tool maker up in Portland and helped manage a prototyping shop.

I have a Lagun knee mill and a Jet gear head lathe in my garage. When I feel good enough (Damn MS) I head to the garage and make some chips.


Anyway keep that CNC's spindle turning and enjoy what you do.

Okay, material for the benders is taking a touch longer to get here then I planned (local distributer shut down) so, I will start running these this weekend.

Very nice indeed. Beats the manual bending and applying heat to the tube to decrease the chance of kinks.. Any way to put your common degree marks on it? 0,15,30,45,etc.? if not maybe just a notch at 0,45,90,etc.??

My comment concerning "Cheap" was refering to the price of this bender and not it's quality. This is a deal worth waiting for, you could not build one for less.

From what I understand the cad files were curupt when he had the computer crash. Don't know if he is working on a new one so if you are :oops:. Don't really think it is his fault heck it happens.

I spoke to Gerame yesterday - when he had the computer problems the files for the bender were screwed up. He still has all the specs though. No benders have been made at this point, and all deposits were refunded to those that wanted refunds. He'll eventually get back to this project, but somewhere down the line.
