View Full Version : More BB stuff

I read the few threads in this section, and decided to try out the BBs in the tires.
I went to a hunting place and picked up 6000 for $10. It weighed 4.5 pounds.
I used film containers as my measuring cup. I don't know what each one weighs.
I started out with 2 containers worth in each front, and 1 in the back.
Other than a funny sound, I can't say it changed much about the truck, which is a TXT.
A few battery packs later, I took all of them out of the rear tires. I put 4 containers worth in each front tire.
There's only about 1/4 of the 6000 BBs left in the container. I figure it's close to 2 pounds in each front tire.
I can't even pick the truck up without it nosediving (batteries are in the front too).
That changed everything.
One of the problems with the TXT is it lifts the front left tire going up hill. That's just about gone.
It makes it up/over stuff now where it would wheelie over backwards before, even with the 2 containers in the fronts.
Definately an increase in front traction.

Anyways, it was a fun experiment, and I was bored, so I shared.

Hmmmm... they sound like they work. Since it makes the tires heavier, you would get more traction. I might try em when I get a crawler. (still looking for the right deal)

Question though, would it be rough on the car, and break some parts?? At clodtalk, they were saying that the heavier the car, the more breakage.

It's likely. But I won't be surprised, I expect something to break everytime I drive it.
